Champion 7163 Verona WI--Ironman Bike Country! | Subject: RE: swbkrun mentor group 6 years running! STut - 2012-04-04 10:54 PM OK, so today's training was a swim and then hill repeats. Still learning this whole ope water swim thing. Today was 1250 yards in 24:39 slow but hey I didn't drown so I'm ahead of the game. The run was 8 hill repeats about .2 miles up an 8% grade then back down a total of 3.5 miles at an average 8:30 pace. SCOTT! We're all still learning! Think of this, you swam 1250 yards and did some honking hard run while 3/4 of the people in the North American (hi Canada!) sat on their rears, ate Doritos and watched American Idol. |

Expert 847 Brevard, North Carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun mentor group 6 years running OPEN Name: Jayne In the past 15 months, I've gone from ZERO running experience to competing my first half marathon. Swimming was totally new as well.
2012 Races: 2 half marathons, 4 sprints, 1 oly, and a 50k trail run at the end of the year (yikes!!) Longterm Goals: HIM in 2013 and IM sometime in 2014-2015 (before I'm 50) What I bring to the group: A lot of questions, some comic relief and some mad investigative skillz (right David?) Oh, and I tend to get censored more than anyone else on the mg--even Fatty. Why is that? |

For males, there are even less benefits to having large boobs. Hard to find a sports bra that will fit most men properly. |

WOW, you admitted that. Does that mean you have a manssiere? I guess it's possible you might need once since you basically stopped working out for 4 months after you IM. Ha! |

I live in Cochrane, AB, a pretty town near the mountains. Actually, right next to the city Trevor lives in, but better. I got interested in triathlon almost two years ago when I decided I wanted an actual challenge in my life. I had never run, couldn't swim a stroke and was afraid of the deep end of the pool, so I had to spend some time working on those things. What started as a goal to do any (probably a sprint) triathlon has become a lifestyle. I'm not shooting for an ironman until 2014 though. That's when it fits best with my family and the rest of my life. Family status: Married with two kids, Sebastian (5) and Hazel (3.5). I'm a stay at home mom, so fit my training in when my husband gets home and the two afternoons a week both kids are in preschool. 2011 races: It was my first year doing triathlon. I did 3 sprints and one Oly. 2012 races: My "A" race is the Calgary 70.3 at the end of July. I'll also do a sprint and an olympic beforehand, as well as a sprint at the beginning of September. Not really planning on training for that last sprint though, as we'll be dong most of our family vacation in August. I'm hoping to have enough residual fitness from the HIM as long as I keep running some. hazel... i love it!!! and your plan for your last sprint is right on! and i didn't realize you are a stay at home mom, so there is something good about the canada.... canadian stay at home moms don't come up here complaining about how tough there "job" is. very good. Well, being a stay at home mom is easier here. I just send the kids into the igloo when they're difficult and the snow and ice helps create a noise buffer. Or load them into the dog sled and let them mush off into the distance. |
