Name:  Jayne

Background: I'm 45 years young and have been working for the last few years to get back into shape.  I am very self-motivated and I also obsess about hydration (just ask John).  When I'm not working out, or sleeping, I teach 8th grade U.S. History.  Therefore, I also exercise to prevent killing one of my students .

About a year and a half ago, I had surgery on both legs for chronic exertional compartment syndrome.  This is a condition that I've suffered from for YEARS.  It made it impossible for me to run and over the years, it was getting more and more painful just to walk fast.  I was relieved to finally find out what it was, and that there was something that could possibly help me. 

In the past 15 months, I've gone from ZERO running experience to competing my first half marathon.  Swimming was totally new as well. 

Family Status:  Married with 3 children (ages 24, 24, 21)

2011 Races:  3 sprints and 1 oly

2012 Races: 2 half marathons, 4 sprints, 1 oly, and a 50k trail run at the end of the year (yikes!!)

Longterm Goals:  HIM in 2013 and IM sometime in 2014-2015 (before I'm 50)

What I bring to the group:  A lot of questions, some comic relief and some mad investigative skillz (right David?) Oh, and I tend to get censored more than anyone else on the mg--even Fatty.  Why is that?

I look forward to getting to know everyone, hearing your stories, and working together to meet our goals!

I will admit that there are very few advantages to larger boobs.  And the few advantages there are disappear after having children.

Photo!! I have very few race photos I actually like -- either I am just a horrible-looking runner or photographers have a knack for catching me not at my best moment. But here is one I like. Although it totally illustrates what an upright runner I am. I am working on that...

For males, there are even less benefits to having large boobs.  Hard to find a sports bra that will fit most men properly.

I had heard stories about the volume of posts by this MG, but good gawd!  I had to toggle off the email notification before it blew up the server!  Y'all post faster than fatty knocks backs miller lites.

I am definitely gonna have to try and scrounge up some extra time to try and keep up...  I am Sloooowww like that.

We're off to Minocqua for the weekend!!!  The lake is open, but I am guessing it's a little too early for my first OWS.  Frost expected.

Quick post from work. 

Name: tritiny/ Tiana

Story: When I was 21 had a very bad infection that causes nerve and musle damage to my right hip and leg.  Lots of physical therapy over ten years to walk again without a limp.  Starting doing tris in 2010 when my neice talked me into geting a gym membership. I did three Sprints and a MS 150 in the summer of 2010.  Then fell off a porch and hurt my ankle in Oct 2010.  Last summer I only did bike events with my BIL.

FAMILY STATUS:

Single, I was a foster mom for five years. Last year I was able to adopt my two girls (6,4)

Race 2012: Salt Lake City Marathon Bike Tour,  Bike MS Utah:  Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride Antelope by Moonlight, and more to still figure out.

Training: this year I'm trying to build up my miles esp on the bike so I can do an Ironman in 2013.
