Is there still room in your group for me? I'm hoping to do my first tri this year. The swim has always been my problem. Hoping this will be the year I finally make it happen! |

No real weekend plans for me. I've been tinkering with my bike fit a bit more. Slammed the stem and bought a Fast Forward seat post. Seems to help. I may go out for a ride to see how it feels. There's also a 5K tomorrow morning I'm debating about doing but I haven't been running much lately so I'm afraid about being disappointed with my time. Otherwise it's church tonight and then on Sunday. You might be, but nevertheless it might give you a realistic baseline for where you're actually at to base the remainder of your run training on ... |

Nothing too exciting, there will be some serious biking and running though, maybe some swimming thrown in there. Maybe a little doggie park action and a few easy miles on the MTB with the kiddos. Happy (Good) Friday everyone, I'm looking forward to some of those malted easter egg candy things.

Can I join? Can I? Can I? Can I? Ohh Ohh pick me, pleeaassee CAR-la Name, rank and serial number! Or just talk about peeing ... we like that. I'm Carla. Happily married with a 7 year old, 2 weimeriners and a cat. I've been around BT for 3 or 4 years or so. Started cycling to maintain some level of fitness. Dabbled in jogging and have no problems with swimming. Found this sight one day while working procrastinating and thought I'd give a sprint a tri. I fell in love with the sport. After a couple of sprints the first year, I completed a marathon the next year along with a couple of metric century rides. Last year and so far this year have been slim pickins' on the races, but I try to fit in some training where I can. In December of '11, my doc gave me a swift kick in the pants and told me to get my act together as far as eating was concerned. Basically, the only risk factor I didn't have for heart disease was the smoking. So, 4 months later, I've lost 24 pounds and have no intention of stopping until I lose 24 more. Excited to meet everyone and soak up some of this motivation for training!!! Flipper taps to all Great job on the weight loss! I need to lose a good forty pounds myself. (Maybe a few more, but I'm not getting on the scale anytime in the near future.) Hopefully once I start exercising again I will want to start eating well. |

I'll rustle up a clickable-links team table, say, tomorrow, when I'll have access to high-speed Internet and it's not 3am. In the meanwhile ... PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR LOG IS VIEWABLE BY BT MEMBERS, or if you wish to have it viewable by Manatees only, you'll have to add each of us individually on your friends. Oh, and it would be a good idea to actually log any activity you do, or, if you don't do any, to at least ramble on uselessly (like I do) about why not. If you don't know how to do some or any of this, ask Salty. |

I came home from work early because I am now sick. I never get sick, so I blame you . Once home I passed out for 3 hours and now will head to the store for orange juice and ice cream. The oj for the vitamin c and the ice cream because I want it. I'll probably pick up some beer too because you never know, I might feel better later! My weekend plans are now in flux, but I want to swim tomorrow ( Saturday) and cycle Sunday. I willbe a good girl and not run tomorrow regardless of how I feel in an attempt to heal my hamstring. |

Coastal Carolina | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - Open ebshot - 2012-04-06 8:18 AM Totally off topic/random question but I know Yanti is the dog whisperer so here goes. Anyone have any advice about what to do with a dog that has major anxiety when riding in the car? Our (almost) 2 y/o Labradoodle is a mess whenever we have to take a ride. He has gotten a bit better but he still drools like a mad dog. It's gross and I feel bad for the pup. Also, does anyone use an auto harness or other implement while transporting their doggies? Our cavapoo likes to sit on my lap while I drive but it's drives me nuts.
Check out thundershirt.com, it considerably helped my pup get over his anxiety issues. I highly recommend it, he doesn't have that awesome slobber beard by the end of the 10 min trip to the dog park...
Working all weeekend for me, feeling better after complete couch fest all day, so will be able to make it to the grind. Hopefully some early or more likely evening trainer rides. Still have to figure out that trainer tire... I've got the first side on and the tube through but I can't get the second side on the rim. Suggestions? I did break out the heat gun I use for melting wire covers but not really gettin enough heat through the entire tire fast enough... And I knew what chips and gravy were but what is poutrine? I don't think I spelled that correctly. And ETA a second time- Wetsuit; does it loosen up after a few swims? I got the one suggested by xterra's sizing chart, and I was right in the middle of that sizes parameters just feels tight. Edited by Tripopo 2012-04-06 3:17 PM |

OMG, it's like a weighted vest but for dogs! I love it. I wonder if I can order one for my ASD son too, he'd love it! Thanks for the ideas guys. Mack (Labradoodle) is crate trained. I have tried to put his crate in the car and then cruise about but he was still a basket case. We'll keep trying though. I really enjoy taking the dogs to the forest and walking them while our oldest and youngest are at lacrosse/baseball practice. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - FULL POD No big weekend plans here. Alex has her first lacrosse game of the season on Saturday and a quiet day on Sunday with a nice ham dinner. At least that is the plan, we'll see what happens. I still need to get to the store for some Easter candy for the kids. My boys said something about the Easter Bunny bringing stuff. I didn't realize they believed in the Easter Bunny as it isn't something we really perpetuate. Oops! Okay, I am off to ride the trainer. Don't be jealous. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Mentor Group - Open So how is everyone's long Easter weekend going? Thursday I ran 30mins with strides (I love it!) and Saturday I did the same thing but my husband and daugther came along too - her first real run, she did around 2km so I was very pleased. We finished at the kids playground so while she played there me and my husband did interval sprints round the track there. Great fun. Last night not so clever - some lovely neighbours come over for some nibbles and drinks - I think I had at least one bottle of wine to myself. Feeling a little delicate this morning! Oh well, resting most of the day then 1000m tt at the pool probably do that around 4pm when I'm recovered and rehydrated! Sunday - 10km run is scheduled. And between the two I shall fit in a 45min bike trainer... Woohoo! |
