Sarah congrats on the mileage milestone. And you're over three quarters of the way to your goal. Nice job.

I'll go ahead and post my numbers, too. I had 20.4 miles this week (I missed a workout early in the week and never managed to make it up, sorry team.) I am on track to hit at least 95% of my goal, more if I don't have any injuries. I'm happy, because prior to this my monthly high mileage was 37, so this challenge really has challenged me.

So, my monthly total is 31 (out of 30) for record-keeping's sake.  If I run more (I will) does it count toward the team?  If so then I will do what I can, if not, I will keep on running anyway!  Tomorrow's a rest day, though.

Just checking in to say hello since I haven't inspired many of you in the last few days. Will post my weekly totals tomorrow just in case I go out on a short one tonight. Should be right on track for making my goal. Looks like I underestimated but thats better than not making the goal right?

Keep up the awesome work PPEs.

Medusa Ann brings up a good point - if we go OVER our goal, does that count? And another question, if at this juncture we think we may go over, can we up the ante now????????????????????????????????????????

As I understand it, we cannot exceed 100% to count for our team. You may up your goal at any time however. So you can add more to your goal, then continue to work towards 100% again, but we don't get any extra credit. I do think that's a bit bogus though. Runners who reach their goal early deserve a gold star!

I only knocked out 13 this week. Sorry guys but my heel was killing me yesterday and I just didn't think that it was a good idea to run on it. I'll make it up this week though.

I'm at about 3.5 hours this week.  Seeing as that put me over my goal, I'm going to up it to 15 hours for this month.

Great job everyone!

Good afternoon PPE's,

Just wanted to check in. I am at 87.85 miles of the 114 I have promised. I will get them done by the end of the challenge.

Had a great weekend and I hope you all did too. Well, gotta go eat some lunch and get back to work. Will run later today and do my Cross-fit workout.

Have a great day!

Can I make an increase then? Make my goal 48 miles vs. 45. (not a big deal for most but I'm already trying to figure out how and when I will push those extra couple miles). But I can do it right? I'm a purple people eater and we've got the wind at our back and secret roller blading shoes on our feet

Hi Everyone,

Here's where we're at for the end of week 3.  For those of you that haven't checked in on the thread, I took a peek at your logs.  (Sorry, I was a smidge anxious) Tongue out

I'll wait until tonight for everyone to check in before sending the results to Cat.

Sorry I did not post sooner; work is nuts this week. I had a total of 6.5 miles for last week, which put my monthly total at 18.6 for the month as of yesterday. I have only 6.4 miles left, which I am hoping to have done by Friday if I have to walk it. Keep fingers crossed for no shin/back/whatever troubles this week!

I have to say that I am SO IMPRESSED with everyone in this group. You have all done so well. I hope I'll be along side some of you in the November challenge.  I also added everyone onto my blog groups too. I've really enjoyed giving and getting those inspires. They really help.

Who here is thinking about doing the November challenge? I know I'm excited for it. I've never stuck to my training program so well as I have this month. I think I'll be doing miles run along with hours of yoga for November.
Oh, and just got back from a 6-miler, so I'm still ticking away at those last miles. I had a nice run, really enjoyed the weather. I also have a 5k this weekend. I'm psyched, because I did the 2006 race as my very first 5k ever. I'm looking forward to going back and smashing my time from last year. I hope! Back then I was worried about finishing, as I had never even run 3 miles at one time before. Funny how far a year can take you.

Okay Purple Peeps its really getting down to the wire now. We've fallen in the rankings a bit, but its still a really close competition. Besides, I know that I, like a lot of you, plan on getting in a lot of miles this last week and a half.

By the way....who's racing this weekend? I know there's a few of us. I have a Halloween 5k on Sunday.

I'm still on the fence about my 1/2 marathon this Sunday.  I have a 1.5 hr run scheduled for today.  How I feel during today's run will probably determine if I do the race or not.  Either way, I'll hit 100%.  Tongue out

I am almost done   Got to run outside last night. It was 73 degrees!!!!!!  I am racing this Sunday. Against myself as usual. Want to beat my 5K slow poke time of 38 minutes but I have a feeling it won't happen. I am doing Pumpkin Push in Seward Park in Seattle which is where I ran last night. Can't wait! Weather looks good for it too.   Hope everyone does well this weekend.

Hi,

Im just writing a note here to get feedback regarding those people affected by the fires in California as Mother Nature is an unforeseen circumstance that we could not have planned for with this challenge.

They way I see it there are 3 groups:
- Those evacuated due to fire risk
- Those whose running is affected due to smoke in the air
- Those who are working as part of the fire fighting crew

I have some ideas on how we can address this but the key suggestions are:
- Let another team member or members pick up their mileage in the next 7 days (this only counts from miles run from today)
- Allow for goal reduction based on planned workouts for days affected due to fire fighting or evacuation (has to be a fair way to do this, if you committed 50 miles and have only run 10 miles to date dont try and tell me you were going to run 40mile in 7 days!!!)

Those affected by smoke can use the gym or elliptical or treadmill to meet their goal OR if you do not have access to these facilities the above will apply.

Please let me know via PM or in the team leaders thread anyone affected and what you want to do ASAP as the end of October is almost upon us.

Please stay safe
Cat
