LaurenSU02 - 2008-02-03 4:16 PM I took my little 'C' bank to Commerce Bank
today and dumped all the coins into the free coin counting machine. And, guess what! I
had $48.37 .

Cool! What are you buying us?

I spent it all yesterday . I went to a movie with my cousin (and got dessert, because this theater has a little coffee shop with the best desserts) and then my friend decided that she didn't feel like getting any food together for her Super Bowl party, so I ended up buying a few things, including pizza, for that. And I didn't cook at all this weekend (usually I cook a lot and pack up little lunches for me all week), so now I have to buy lunch. So that'll take care of the rest of the $$.

I need to fill another piggy bank quickly!!

FWIW, 3558, I would have been a very happy girl with quiche at a Super Bowl party. I love quiche. And, I love fruit salad.

And, NL, I could have rivaled you with the eating but I unfortunately found myself at a party with no food .

You would have to eat a LOT of fruit salad and quiche to match my 2 bbq sandwiches and chili and all the other assorted junk I ate yesterday.

I think you are obsessed with making excuses for why you didn't work out.  A few excerpts from this week...

"I'm a freakin' genius. I have to go home now after work because I do not have my contacts with me."

"Did not get in run this morning, as I had to get up early and pack."

"Choir tonight, so no chance to work out. Plus I have to clean out the car and get ready for tomorrow."

"Nothing today, folks. Stuff after work tonight, so no time for workout. And I needed to catch up on sleep."

This is my theory - if I'm exhausted (and I was), working out is somewhat pointless b/c I'm not going to get a good workout. Hence my reason for postponing the swimmy until this morning. And I didn' skip it, I just moved it, so I am caught up.

And I wouldn't necessarily call choir an "excuse". It's a valid commitment and I'm not about to skip it, or quit.

The point is that I didn't make some lame excuse like "the dog ate my swim plan," or "tri-hottie's brother wouldn't let me get up," etc.

shall we compare training volumes over the past month?

dood, it's not all about volume.  it's comes down to race results.  perhaps a challenge is in order.

You're a computer guy, can't you come up with some algorithm for a handicap?

It'll be embarrassing enough if I lose to Shelly.  If I lost to wurkit as well... well, I'd probably have to get off BT for good.

For my part, yes, I didn't do a awhole lot in December/January. But I think that's okay. I'm back in the game now - and I was gone this weekend, and still managed to run twice. I have a training plan for the 10-Miler and I'm sticking to it. I'm also in the swim challenge for February, in order to not suck at Cherry Blossom and Kinetic Half. No worries - my volume will be back up to acceptable levels soon.
