If he obsessively counts his fingers.. or taps his fingers.. or taps his foot.. or shows some body 'tick' that seems uncontrollable then you can worry.. but take everything I say with a grain of salt... i'm much more versed on Manic-Depression.... Yeah... I figure he's being a kid... after all, he can deal with a disrupted routine... he may not always be happy about it, but really he does fine. I was just curious... so I asked the collective wisdom of TAN. -B I'm not a professional, but I'm gonna add to the collective TAN wisdom, since I did nanny for several years- unless he exhibits other weirdness as Sharkie said, I'd say he's just being a 5-year old and into routine and specifics. A lot of kids are just very particular about certain things - esp. food. However, there are all sorts of variances on the weirdness scale, ranging from normal kid behavior, to serious issues, and OCD can also be really mild. There are plenty of finicky people who like things the way they like them and it's not necessarily "bad", ya know? And they don't necessarily HAVE OCD, just ocd-like tendencies. Hard to tell when they're little. Most likely, he's just being a kid, though. Edited by wurkit_gurl 2008-08-01 12:44 PM
