I wonder what training I should do tonight... I usually just wing it based on whatever time I have available. If my wife has to work tonight it will probably just end up being intervals on the elliptical for an hour, though.

My plan says... 2 hour bike ride and then a 10min run. I am not looking forward to it at all.

Nice. I don't have a plan - I just figure if I do something, no matter which it is, if it's a good workout it is a good workout. I'm staying casual with the structure. I do need more water time, though.

You and me both... I just don't make time for it. At least I can start getting some OWS in now that the water is tollerable without a wetsuit.

i know! a few years ago oprah did a program where she gives away all of her fave things. well this particular year the whole audience was made up of teachers. she gave them a ton of cool stuff including vacations and cars.  the next day we were chatting about it and i kept saying how i thought it was cool to see fellow teachers get something like that. she was pissed for the next week that they didn't call her to be in the audience. last year i was nominated for a nation wide award (didn't stand a chance of winning but it was cool to be nominated!) she wanted to know why the kid who nominated me had not nominated her too. no congrats, just why not me too?

I've had to run up my CC balances as of late because of the rising cost of my weekly airfare. I am, however, cutting back on expenses. For example I told the maid to come every OTHER week instead of weekly, I've cut back massages to one a month and I may even cut my cable down to basic since I never watch it. Life is tough all around.

I like the cold water. Doesn't bother me - I grew up swimming in Nova Scotia. COLD COLD water. I did have to learn to keep it out of my ears, though. Cold water in the inner ear can mess you up for days.

what ever happened to wishing the guy next to you the best? when did we become a world that can't be happy for someone else! guess thats why i like this site. we encourage each other, wish them the best, offer advice. and it doesn't cost a darn thing to do it!

Water temp was just below 19C/66F at the race this weekend. Definately great for swimming.

My pool in the backyard gets up to 85-90 in the summer.  It perfect for lounging with a mojito.....  yes......

Two things....

It's 107 and I am looking forward to my hour run tonight and jumping into the pool right afterwards (sans shoes/shirt).

I'm going to grab some lunch....

BRB.

That may work.  We haven't set a date yet, but it will be in that range of weekends.  We usually do a 4th party, but that won't work this year.

Mine was sans wetsuit... I've actually never raced in one.

May have to look into one for the HIM this year... but the race is in August... Don't know if it will be legal.
