I went to mall to get a cell phone charger (my battery died, and I can't find charger), and just for kicks I went into a "normal" size clothing store.

I typically have to pay the high prices of Lane Bryant for pants because of my big bootie and thighs.

I CAN WEAR 'NORMAL' PEOPLE CLOTHES!!!

No more paying ridiculous prices for ugly plus-size clothing. I am so excited!

I tried on a pair of 16 pants, and they were too big. That was just for kicks, though.

The cool part was I found a really sweet red jacket for only $19.99. And guess what size I needed? Huh? Guess? NOT an X-large, BUT A LARGE!!!

So that definitely game me the little ego boost that I needed.

In any case, no junk food or sugar today, although I was quite tempted when I had to run into the grocery store to get toothpaste. (roomie is gone tonight and she needed her toothpaste.)

That's so awesome, Susie! What a great way to end a bad day, huh? Have a great weekend and tell your Gramma HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Trish

I'm so glad that daylight savings time starts on Sunday.  That means opportunities to bike after work -- WOO HOO!  I'm shifting FOCUS again, and now I'll be concentrating on biking (well, hopefully so...).

Anybody need a challenge?  Can you think of one?  I'm heading off to a meeting, but I'm sure my mind will wander some.  Maybe I can come up with an idea?

now your talking my true love of this sport!

Well I really need to get some bike time.  But not everyone is in the same place, so I don't want to make this too onerous.  What if the challenge is to bike three time per week?  For me, it would mean outside, on the road.  But it's an individual thing, so biking could be stationary bike, or spin class, or mountain biking, or a leg of a race, or whatever you want it to be.  What do you all think?

I have to sign on for this, too. I'm kicking and screaming, but signing on! Now that we'll have more light in the evenings, I'll plan to extend my commute 2x per week and get my long ride in on Saturdays. It's a plan, anyway.

On another note, I just committed to the lottery for the Nike Women's Marathon in SF this October. My heart is pounding and I can't breathe! I'm not sure whether I want to get in or not ...

Thanks for the challenge! Now I'm off to get started with my first long ride.

I had this entire post ready to send and lost it ! lol so here I go again

Smile I am a triathlete !  I am home and I'm alive and I'm elated/happy/pleased !!! WOOHOO

Of the 35 men and women who signed up, I came in 25th overall !!

Of the 22 women, I came in 13th.  I'll take that !

I swam a 512.5, I only wanted 10 laps to to squeek out more made me very happy ! I did freestyle the entire time, I wanted to roll over and breathe but did not let myself.  I also never stayed for longer than one breath at the wall !   I had such a treat because my dad and Lexi (dd 4) stood at the end of my lane and cheered for me !  Dh was poised on the side at the other end camera in hand.  Really was wonderful !

On the bike I was keeping it around 26, or 27....... i managed 6.63 miles

The run was 1.41 mile

Couple folks were joking about how I could be smiling so much, and that it must be because I'm from California ! lol........

I'll get a few pics up in a bit. Video is iffy I have not seen any of it yet.

Thanks for the support and encouragement, ideas etc, you can't believe how many times all of you went through my mind !

OH !!!! I never touched the bottom of the pool !!!!  (thanks Julie)

Finished my 40 mile ride and conquered "Nemesis Hill". Somewhere along the ride I picked up 2 miles beyond what I had mapped. Unfortunately, I've determined that this saddle and shorts combination has about a 35 mile expiration. The last 7 miles were OUCH!

Temperatures were about 70, so I was riding in tri shorts and a tri top. On my last outside ride I was wearing Frosty Tights and about 5 layers on my body.

went swimming this a.m., took grandmom out to lunch for her birthday and then I went for a bike ride. I couldn't go too far, though, because I had to go up to the house and get clothes. I also got my mattress. It's like being in college again - sharing a 1 BR apartment - but I am sooooooooo thankful for my friend. I can't even put in words what she has done for me or I might still be in that situation.

the bike ride was fun ... but I was really disappointed. I know I could have done more this winter, but I was hoping it'd be a little bit easier when I finally got outside from dropping weight and all the weight training. Guess there's only one place to go from here.

Susie, don't worry about it!  The weight loss will help you advance quicker than you would have carrying more.  But when you lay off from any sport (not just biking), you just need to get your base back.  I'm there too -- my biking times are much worse than I thought they should be.  But time on the bike is what we both need!

YEEEHAAAW- Julie! Way to rock it! How excited you must be...enjoy the post-race high and relax.

Way to go Susie! So exciting for you to see your body (and clothes) changing- I have always thought this is a much better way to judge your progress versus just weight.

Cheri-great suggestion about the biking....now that I think I am on my way with swimming (still tons of work to do but I figure I can make any time cutoffs)- cycling will be the next challenge. Sadly we are still deep in negative temps (celsius) so it will be all trainer/spin class but count me in!

Trish- my sister and I had contemplated the SF Women's marathon. Perhaps we will throw our names in and see if it was meant to be.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! I will check logs tomorrow- looking forward to seeing peach!

Way to go Julie!!  Congratulations on finishing your first triathlon.  I haven't even signed up for my first one yet, so you're way ahead of me.

I got out for a bike ride this morning - okay, but as usual of late, it was a little on the cold and wind side.   In the afternoon I was feeling kind of lazy, but instead of taking a power nap, I talked myself into heading out the door for a run.   Now I'm thinking I should have run in the morning and biked in the afternoon.  Oh well.

 Have a great Sunday everyone.

Went for a run this morning, but I didn't use my head.  I usually run first thing in the morning, but today I procrastinated (isn't that what Sunday morning are for?).  When I get back from my run I eat.  But today it was so late that I was hungry through the whole thing.  I dragged through it!  Good thing this was a recovery week...

Planning a mellow bike ride this afternoon.  It's a beautiful day!!!
