Yeah, I'm almost jealous.

meh.  People......Some people are never happy, and revel in letting the world know when they aren't.

Ok, I'm caught up.

A.) I'm beyond bummed that I missed the cyber orgy on pg. 63.

B.) Kiley, I read your post on pg. 64. *HUG* You're awesome. Hang in there; we KNOW there is someone amazing out there for you.

C.) Scout, thanks for the ADD/ADHD lesson on pg. 66. Ironic timing. I've recently been diganosed and am reluctant to go on any medication. Yet, I seem to start a million things and finish nothing so something must be done. I tried Adoral (sp?) and hated feeling so "wired"....although I did get a lot done!!

Edited: Adderall is what I took for about a week.

Ask about Focalin, and Focalin XR.  I don't get the wired feeling with it, and it does help.

I will say this, though:  Any medication is not the solution.  You need to look at your life, and your lifestyle, and work on changing it to better match your strengths while minimizing your weaknesses.  The medication can help with that, but is not a cure-all.

I have a book at home that was REALLY helpful with identifying the changes I needed to make, and helping me make some of them.  If I remember, I'll look it up and send you the title.

In that first picture, what in the world is that person to the right wearing?
That disturbs me more than the object itself

That would be awesome!  I'm not on anything right now and I'm trying to self-manage.  It's not bad...some days are better than others.

I haven't stopped in for quite a while. Hello all.

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I was going in for a sleep study consultation. The bottom line was that I didn't fit the typical mold of person with sleep apnea, so instead of shelling out $2,200 from my HSA to determine if I have sleep apnea or not, I've decided to explore some other avenues first. However, they did tell me that my blood pressure was high. I've since checked my BP twice with one of those machines at the grocery store. Every time my BP has been roughly 155/90, give or take a couple points. I have now set an appointment with my regular dr. to discuss this issue. I spoke with my mother today about family history, knowing that the dr. will ask. Here is her reply.

Pat--forgot that doctor just put your father on BP med also.
Paternal history, father, maternal grandmother and maternal great grandmother
Maternal history, mother, maternal grandmother and maternal great grandmother (stroke)

Given all of that I feel like a walking blood pressure time bomb. I'm relatively young (will be 35 this summer), fairly fit, and diet is decent, probably could use some work but not terrible. Since Matchy was giving everybody the business about going in for a colonoscopy, I'm going to suggest that everybody keep an eye on their blood pressure to boot. I would have never guessed that I had high blood pressure. I never have in the past, but you don't know unless you check.
