I am still trying to figure out races, training, surgery and what I want to do when I grow up. The process of scheduling surgery is going to take a week or so. So, until then, all I can do is plot and attempt to plan.

Here is my evening yesterday:

We had a meeting at the local Inn last evening. I decided to walk (it is only a mile away and a beautiful walk over the flowering bridge, and on the boardwalk by the lake). As I was walking down our road, two drunk guys were hanging on their front porch with a BB gun rifle shooting and street signs. The porch is not even 20 feet from the road. NICE! Gotta love Rednecks. I mean, they were plow-faced drunk at 5 pm! Not to mention that they thought it would be funny to hit the sign right where I was standing. Idiots. I believe my reaction scared them semi-sober! Hell hath no fury like a woman being shot at!

Ann - seems like the kids got through the funeral okay. Crying is a good release, and they seemed like the kids we hear about, helping at the church. Bummer about the soccer situation. It does not sound like a good situation for anyone. I hope that Caleb makes the right decision for himself.

Dee - I now have a iPad, and the IT guy downloaded a bunch of apps, including some games. So I believe that I will enjoy a few games myself eventually. But not at work. Need to pay attention for now, until I am up to speed with what is going on.

So, I have decided that when I grow up I want to be The Doctor's companion. I'd get to travel. I'd get to be thinky. I'd get to run a lot. I'd definitely wear more sensible footwear than some of his past companions. They know they are going to be running, why wear shoes you can't run in?

So, this morning I took the one mile walk over to sign up for benefits. Then walk back. Yeah a two mile walk I can log in. But, yup there is a but, when I got back I realized that I lost my flash drive and file key. So, I am about to head out to make that walk all over again.

Good news, I'll get to log in a 4 mile walk.

Bad news, it is darn hot outside and I'm not dressed for extended walks in the heat.
