Sprint_DA - 2008-07-30 9:27 AM Why won't this TAN die? Is this the immortal TAN?

who is starting the new one?

Let's not kill it yet. It's rumored that TANs can get into the 90's even the hundreds. I for one would like to see that happen.

Not trying to get it pulled by any means, just want it to freeze and go off into retirement like a few TAN's before it.

I know what you meant, but I'm really curious to see if TAN can really into the 90's.

It all depends on when the almighty Mod sees it and freezes it...

-B

I see. How big or small do the mods want them to be?

If I had to guess I'd say we are on borrowed time.

True, but we are being very well behaved. And a new TAN always seems to bring out the freaks. Also, I'm not sure why we're all some into being on the first page. Do people actually ever go back and read TANs?

Because all the cool people make it to page one!  I haven't been cool for a few TANs...

But I do have a new TAN idea... so unless anyone else wants to do the honors, I am ready with one...

I think that probably makes a big difference in point of view as well. Once you've left things change and you get used to taking care of yourself (and by that I mean paying for your own living space, etc...) and you get used to being able to have over whoever you want whenever you want. And after you get used to that you do realize there were some unwritten rules, or even just things you did out of respect for your parents and their house that you never thought about. But once you've left you can do whatever you want, it is addicting.

Agreed. I NEVER wanted to move back home after I went away to college. I spent one summer home and it was okay, but then I did summer stock theatre the second summer and by the third summer, I wanted to stay in Boston and get a summer job instead. Haven't lived home since the summer after freshman year. It IS really nice having your own place ALL to yourself, lemme tell ya. I can't afford to live alone, and I do like having people around, but not having to be accountable to anyone is nice. I go for days without seeing my roommates too, but their stuff is still in the fridge, their mess is still in the sink, etc.

Yep, I've lived alone for 3 of the last 5 years. 1 year with a roommate, 6 months at home (never going to happen again) and 6 months alone in the dorms my senior year (my first senior year). I like knowing that everything I hate about this place, how dirty it is, the fact that it's not decorated (And I've lived here almost 2 years), any damage done to the place, it's all my fault...it's all been my decision. It's a good feeling.

I'm not big on decorating myself and it really bothers other people when they come over. It's like - I don't complain about the cheap, crappy art on your walls, why would you complain about the lack thereof on mine.

My decorations consist of my motorcycle helmet on top of the entertainment center, my race numbers stuck to one wall, and a calendar velcro'd up beside them with race dates written on it.  It's wonderful.

It is, it drives K insane anytime she comes near the door.  When she told me I needed pictures and stuff on the walls I grabbed some old photos and a roll of scotch tape.  She said something along the lines of "no, real pictures" and I said "not my walls" which is a great excuse.

Awesome.  I'm thinking of putting some free posters I got up for sale.  Like the one from the tri I did in June.  We'll see.  I hate the cost of frames though.

So don't use frames.  I don't see the problem.  Unless you want to keep the posters forever.

The ends would curl without tape.  Don't think I want to put that much tape on the walls.  Thinking about checking out thrift stores or other places that might have cheapo frames.

Ooh! That's better than the poster that my roommates had in the kitchen. A nice vintage poster art print that they just stuck to the walls with tape. Always drove me bonkers. I have since bought a new vintage poster art print that I will put in a frame
