DougRob - 2009-06-03 10:36 AM Oopsmy bad! Not a sponsorship but a modeling gig! I gotta read more carefully. In that case, the shot of you on the bike turning to the left is a good shot. The running shots near the end with you out running the guy on the right are good too.

haha, funny thing, that guy next to me is a chick!  We rocked out the last quarter mile, she was fast, but Guy/Girl doesn't matter, I HATE being passed at the finish line!

In that case, that "chick" could kick my a**! Am I getting anything right today? I forgot my running shoes at home so no run after work. It is a PM bike ride for me (weather permitting).

We did a ton of sprints in the Sport Circuit class this morning - that's going to have to count because I'm spent right now.  I'm hoping to recover enough to make a swim/bike workout w/ the tri group tonight.  It's not looking too promising right now, given the amount of weights and overall intensity this morning.

I think you call what I did running.  I started out thinking I would just do a nice easy run and by the end I was spent.  We'll chalk this one up to opressive weather conditions.  You know you look bad during a run when you pass deer grazing on the side of the road and they don't even move!!!

Speaking of my run this morning, I don't recommend Burts Bee's Suntan lotion.  I'm a big fan of their lip balmb so I tried the sunscreen.  It is very thick and didn't absorb very well.  I looked like I had been patted down with talc powder.  Then with high humidity and sweating I had white liquid dripping off of me.  Pretty scary looking.

BTW - I HATE DENTAL INSURANCE!!   I've spent the whole moring arguing with them.  I'M MOVING TO CANADA!!!

fattyfatfat - 2009-06-03 8:50 AM Another pacing question.

I have a pretty good idea of my pace when I just run.  But I'm finding I have NO clue what kind of pace I'm running off the bike.  At first I thought I was just thinking too much.  But at my last tri I thought I was moving along at a slow 10 minute pace when it was actually 8:46.  Last night's brick, I was thinking around 9:30-9:45 and it was closer to 8:15.  Whats up w/ this?

Trevor...I think you made a comment a few pages back about forgetting your ipod and having a great run.  Happened to me last night.  Funny thing I didn't even realize I forgot it until ~75% of the way through.  I was to busy listening to my body.

Your brain is just moving much more slowly than your body.

I had a pretty good run last night. only 5 k as I was tired of my loose tooth bouncing around after 5K.  Going for a root canal tomorrow after work so no workout tomorrow. Going to do a swim tonight. Hope my wife remembers to pick up my wetsuit rental so I can use it. I am doing my first tri of the season on Sunday and I will be very thankful of the wet suit. The weather hasn't been very nice up here and I suspect the water temp will not be hot tub warm The race is a super sprint and I'm going to see how much tme I can knock off last year's time. Last year this was my first tri ever.

I'll just run over to the pool for my swim tonight to cover off the challenge for the day. Only about 1 K so I can do that in my sleep.

I just figured out how to get my Masters swim in on the days that I am working from home and have my son at home with me.  I packed him a backpack full of toys and took him with me  We were swimming in the outdoor 50 m pool, so I found him a spot to play, and then when my workout was done, I let him get in and swim a little.  He liked it, I got my workout in, and the instructor said it was all good!

I had been missing some of my swims because of tee ball and other life stuff going on in the evenings, so this will help.

North Carolina Peep's   Triangle Triathlon....Linda & Tracy are you guys going to be around for it?  I see Doug is in.  Outside shot I may show up.  Will know more in the next few weeks but talk to me..Does it sell out and if so how far in advance? Any other races in July around there.  I'll be down in Columbia and Lake Greenwood, SC but will drive up to escape mother-in-law.

I'm racing that, just haven't gotten my lazy butt up to register yet.  It doesn't look like it will close for it has a very large cap number.  That would be very cool. Let me know if you are coming and need a place to stay. That race is 15 minutes from my house!!!!

Got the photos from my husbands race this past weekend.  I have to brag for a minute!!  Look at my sweety! I keep telling him not to be shy and take off that yellow top during the run. What is the point of a tri suit if you don't show off in it?!

John,
I'm not planning on the Triangle Tri, but if you race it I'll show up.  Not sure if I'd race or jock strap for you.
The race didn't sell out last year (I don't think), but there is some noise about it this year since it's a new course.
(good noise)  Last year the swim was pretty gross!  But, it was right down the street from my house so I was liking the location.  Let us know.....

edited to add - I did it last year.  It was well run and a lot of fun.  New course this year, but the same folks putting it on.  There are some fast dudes & dudettes out there.....and then some folks like me to balance out the field  Kiss

John:

The new Triangle Tri courses have been posted on BT. It looks good and I hope to go out and run and ride the routes soon. I have a Woodworking buddy that lives right on the route. I plan on staying in a mobile home he has on his farm there the night before. I could drive, but I'd rather be right there.
