Laura Cobb finished the IronMan St George in under 14 1/2 hours yesterday!  My understanding was that it was well over 90 degrees.

Way to go Laura...

Happy mother's day, McFuzzies!  Like last year, for mother's day I did the Danskin Triathlon at Disney World.  It was my first triathlon of the season and there were a couple of times when I thought it would have been better to stay in bed, but in the end it was fun.  If you're interested, here's a link to the race report  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp...

Happy Mother's Day to all the McFuzz Moms.  Hope you were able to have a good one.  My boys all made sure I had a great one.  Was able to do exactly what I wanted mostly as I had planned.  Ran, biked, swam and put in half of my vegetable garden.  The weather cooperated so it was cool while I ran, warming up as I biked and sunny when I left the pool and while I played in the dirt.  Was a very nice relaxing fun filled day.  Was afraid I would be exhausted with all of the activity but actually feel quiet energized

Great job Laura!

Gmr... you just had my perfect day! I really miss gardening.

It's official, I was told by someone-in-the-know who shouldn't have told me (but he's a big fan of mine) that I have 3 to 5 weeks TOPS at my job. I'm so stressed and depressed! Thank goodness for the Chi-running...it's been a wonderful way to work my body back into running and to calm my nerves.

If you happen to know of anyone (bankers, brokers) who need a good compliance officer, PLEASE let me know. I will relocate anywhere but particularly from the Midwest to the east coast. I am Stephanie Hartmann on linked in, in case you need some details!

Thanks guys.

HEY WOMAN! you overcame some significant obstacles and finished so well! I'd be proud of this one if I were you. And, at the end of the day, you write a fun-to-read race report also! Thanks

** McFuzzies **

I don't see where Josh posted this, so I will.

Josh (disipleguideservice) ran in the half marathon this past Saturday with his brother.  They wanted to run the race together.  They also wanted to do it in under two hours.  Their finishing time was 1:58:25! They were averaging a little over 8 minute miles for most of the race, and finished with a 9:03 running pace.  There were over 30,000 people in the race.  They finished in the top 25%! They both did an awesome job!!! Laughing

Laura ... IRON KITTY TWICE OVER!!! YOU ROCKED IT OUT GIRLFRIEND!!! I knew you would, GREAT JOB!!! Cool

sjhodgson - 2011-04-26 8:38 PM That spartan race looks really fun.  I had always hoped to do the 'muddy buddy' but never had.  The spartan looks like way more fun though.  I'll have to check out the one in Texas in Dec. and convince my hubby to do it with me!

Definitely do it, we had a blast; but be prepared to work hard!

Which length did you do?  The one in TX is 8 miles give or take...that seems crazy when you add the obstacles!

I did the 8 mile (15 obstacle) one.  Most of the 8 miles was on single track advanced mountain bike trails (in FL there really weren't any hills, so it was a lot of technical running), one of the obstacles was a 250-300 yd swim in the bay which was particularly hard without goggles and with running shoes!  Another obstacle was pulling a cinder block up and down a sand hill.  Every muscle in my body got a work out.  Again, it was hard, but a lot of fun.  Don't be afraid of it!

Ann-Marie

Well now I'm more afraid of it! : )  That sounds harder than I was thinking.  Still sounds fun though so I'll still work on talking my husband into it!

Finished my first sprint of the year on mother's day.  I ended up cutting off 12 min. from last year which is exciting but I should say I was only 3 months out from having a baby last year so that definitely had something to do with it.  I think that if I keep training and get a road bike (I've been racing my mountain bike) I think I can really do much better.  I was very happy with my results though, especially the swim.  My swim time was not awesome but I remember how I felt last year and this year was a complete 180 from that, so that alone was worth it!  Thanks for all your mcfuzzy support leading up to this.  Now I have a month and a half to get ready for my first ever oly, woohoo!

Hi all!

I've had 2 PT approved runs so far.  She said I could run a mile this past weekend and then if that felt OK, a 1.5 on my next run day, which was today. (And she's go my number. Told me " and if you feel fine that doesn't mean you can go longer.")

No pain while running.  YEAH!  A bit achy now, but there are so many variables that I can't say it's the running.  I spent the day in IEP meetings.  I'm not used to sitting all day and I know that bothers my hip, so I'm blaming that and not the running.

Glad to see people's season's off to a great start.  I'm still debating about what to do with the Oly I have at the end of June.  Will I be ready since I've only just gotten back to biking and running?  Not sure.  Will see.

Sj you will ROCK that Oly... Suz, take it easy... are you able to stretch your psoas? I know you want to get out there and kill it... ooohhhmmmm

Monday is officially my last day and it will all work out fine. I was able to resign on my terms and get severance so all's well that ends well. We've had serious issues since January and I must say........... I FEEL FREE! all this work stress and running too much too soon dec/jan to relieve it has taken it's toll on my foot. BUT the foot is getting better and now I will have time & peach-of-mind to train. Such a huge relief... can you hear my 'aaaahhhhhhh' from where you are? Sure I need a job, but I have a feeling things will work out.

You are all so kind. I can use that positive energy! Another 5k this weekend and my husband thinks I can knock off another 30 secs or so. Fun!

There are some similar races out there that are a bit easier.  I'm doing a Warrior Dash is in Wisconsin is September the is a 5K with 7-8 obstacles.  Still looks fun but not as daunting.

Oh! Ok. I should've reasoned that. That's no less impressive. So I have a race on Sunday. A 12k. My best on it was in '94 and was 1:03. This Sunday I'm shooting for under 58 min. Wish me luck!!!
