Veteran 1900 Southampton, Ontario | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED Originally posted by dcon Stuff happens. Still, losing a wheel sounds better than some of the stories I've read, i.e., people who leave their $10k tri-bike on the top of the car, drive into a parking garage and trash both the bike and the car. Oh I agree, in a few months time it will be a funny story but for right now its an annoyance. Truth be told the wheels were the weak link in the bike and I had plans over the winter to replace them with better ones. This just forces the issue but I dont really have the budget right now. I have a line on a nice set for $500, used, but worth closer to $1000 or I can pick up a pair of cheap take offs for $300 (similar to what I have now) No word on my missing wheel but I can be assured that the moment I get another set the missing wheel will surface! |

Veteran 1900 Southampton, Ontario | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED ugh, I hate to be all doom and gloom lately. Aside from my run last night I also spent 2hrs at the dentist filling 4 cavities and I have to go back for more. I dont guzzle Gatorade, infact I always dilute it but I am guilty of running and biking later in the evening and I have to admit that I dont always brush my teeth afterwards. Anyways others may have seen similar articles but just incase - here it is again. http://www.runnersworld.com/newswire/does-running-lead-to-worse-ora... Edited by DaveL 2015-08-11 8:33 AM |

Veteran 1900 Southampton, Ontario | Subject: RE: Consistency Equals Success - CLOSED 53min ride. Its been getting darker earlier but instead of lamenting it I decided to embrace it. I headed out at 9pm just as it was starting to get dark with my LED headlight and red flashing rear light. I live on the edge of town so 5 minutes out I am already clear of street lights and the light pollution of the city, nothing but farm fields and a couple of horse farms. As it progressively got darker it became a little surreal. My headlight didnt offer much in the way of illumination so there wasnt the usual visual distraction of the surroundings. It was just me silently gliding through the cool night air listening to the chirping of crickets, the sound of the chain running thought the drive train and of course the wind whistling by. A very simple ride but a fun one. Dan 8 24:03 Mitch 10 11:59 Jim 10 9:53:37 Dave L 8 5:28 Dennis 10 17:32 Gabe 4 5:13 Dave C 4 4:19 |
