Artemis - 2008-12-10 7:25 PM I bought pink sparkly Converse today (pic in my log). Somehow it just made me think of Nibbs.

cute shoes!

Thanks! I think they'll be cute with my black tux pants for Andy's Christmas party.

Agreed - totally cute shoes and they will look smashing with the tux pants. Sorry to hear about your knee - I know you were hoping to have the surgery and get it over with, but it has to be better for your body if it just heals itself, right?

That is very true.  I'm sure it is much better for me to heal itself.

I'm back from the doctor.  Turns out I have a lateral tear, not a medial tear, so there is a better chance it will heal on its own.  2 more months of regular PT appointments and biking, then a followup to see how its going.

I'm a little frustrated.  Not good at being patient and letting things heal on their own.

Good news then!

That is a good idea-except that I don't have a phone. I just got an email from my mom-I left it there(for the second time today). I missed a call from (the-nearly-impossible-to-get-in-contact-with) Dave.

methycillin-resistant staph aureus

It's an infection that gets in the skin and is antibiotic resistant.  Really nasty to get rid of.

that doesn't sound like fun at all.  that is what I get for hanging out with people who work in the medical/science/tech field.  Most memorable bit of knowledge I picked up from dave...Barr bodies.

Not many people have Barr bodies in their vocab, but you might.

He used the term in reference to our mutual friend...Maneesh seems to be readily available when a gal needs assistance, but is rarely able to help out a guy friend.  Dave believes that maneesh is unable to make time for people without barr bodies.

Maneesh wants me to ride STP with him next summer...in one day.  STP is an organized bike ride/race from seattle to portland.    It is a little over 200 miles I believe.

I have never ridden more than 25 miles in one go before...
