Hi guys. I'm going to have to pull out.  My stomach has been playing up and I thought it would go away.  >_<  Turns out it's a bit of a stomach flu...

No 12 miler today as I'm just too congested and achey.  Just not worth making it worse one week out from the marathon.  Now going to be uber close to not hitting my goal ....... under the gun to hit all the runs that are scheduled.  Hope I get better soon .........

Last place ....... can't say I've ever been there before in a challenge in 2 years on BT ........

Put in 10 today, which finally gets my completion percentage over the percent of month done. So, in spite of a bout of the flu, I'm looking good.

Hope you all get better quickly.

Sorry Aussie friend(lightsaber), hope you feel better soon.

Rick, as much as it sucks to be in last place for the challenge, taking care of yourself and showing up at the starting line of your marathon next weekend healthy is a bigger priority. Do what you need to do.

Ran 10.11 today putting me at 82.35/100 for the month. Have around 22 planned for Tues-Fri so I'll hit my 100 plus maybe a little. It's not quite as dismal as the spreadsheet makes it look.

Keep running fellow LEMmings!

No long run yesterday.  That means I've only got 4 days to hit my target ....... schedule for two recovery runs tomorrow (4 and 5 milers), 7 on Weds. and 5 recovery on Thurs.  I didn't schedule the run I was supposed to do on Friday because I like two days off resting before a big race.  But if I'm close I may just run a few miles recovery (which is what was originally on the schedule).

Right now I'm at work when I should be home in bed ..........

Again, Rick...priorities!! Work always seems to get in the way of things.

But seriously, don't lose sight of the big picture. Is it worth sacrificing proper training/tapering just so we don't come in last? If you were just being lazy or needed some motivation, then that's a different story. But, run smart.

My spreadsheet is up to date.  I didn't know if it made a difference where walking miles are logged. I usually put walking in the sport section of my log, but it doesn't count the mileage.  Earlier in the week I put some walking in the sport section.  Then, today, I decided to put my walking mileage on the run log.  I hope that is ok.  Anyway, the spreadsheet is accurate on my mileage, which includes some walking.

Hang in team.....we are almost there!

I have a 10 mile run planned for tomorrow.

Hey, if walking didn't count, I'ld never get to my goals.

Great job for the month.

Aren't priorities always a problem with Type A triathletes???

I left work at noon, probably staying home tomorrow (only thing on the schedule is a conference call at 2 which I can call in from home).

Come on LEMmings. Three more days to go! I have 18 more to go and that will not be a problem baring any type of sickness that seems to be going around. I have been avoiding co-workers, family members and anyone else to avoid catching the flu and whatever else seems to be going around. Do not know if it will help but if I can make it 3 more days.....

Spent most of yesterday after getting home in bed, and stayed home from work today.  Debating whether I'll stay home tomorrow as well.  Needless to say I'm not going to hit my goal.  I just hope I can recover enough to race Sunday.  I've worked for the last 11 weeks to get to that day.

Sorry guys ....

Hey, just get better. Don't worry about the challenge. You've been an inspiration to me, as I get ready for my first marathon.

No problem. With all the miles you've put in I don't think anybody could fault you for needing a rest. Hope you get to feeling better so you can kick butt on Sunday. Good luck.

Daremo.... Just get better.  I was down all day yesterday myself.  Not sure what today will even bring.  This thing is going around and getting everyone... Just get better and focus on  your race... Hopefully, you'll get all better by then.

I've been struggling too - you can tell because I have not posted much.  Between teaching A LOT of spin classes and A LOT of strength classes my leg has really started to hurt - now I am feeling a bit under the weather too.  I feel like I am cheating but I will be using those elliptical miles.

Sorry guys.

You aren't cheating - use the elliptical miles.

It's a challenge. It's fun. It's motivating. (Or at least, it's supposed to be those things!)... But it's not worth injuring yourself over. (Or, for those of you who are sick - it's not worth getting sicker over.)

Hey - I had the flu 2 weeks ago. Came back with a strong week last week. Tonight, I ran 8+ in the 38 degree rain and dark. And my motivation was to hit this challenge's goal. I think I have 6 to go, which should be no problem. So, whether you hit your goal or not, don't forget the inspiration you've given to your teammates....and that goes for everyone.

Another 3 today. The WORST RUN EVER... (or at least in the past 6 months). And to make matters worse, everyone around me is coming down with the creeping crud - my running buddy, my daughter.... most of the people in the challenge group.

So.... the question now is, can I stay healthy for the next 5 days?

This team started out the month with the plague.... and seems to still be dealing with it, too.
