Took backpack with weights in (extra 7lbs) to make up for my weight loss since Jan 1 I will get my legs stronger, I will..... Hey folks, how about posting some photos here of your rides so we can see a little of your scenery. Nice pics on your blog CHR15. Oast houses look good. I took two yesterday but can't get the size right to post |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors I did my first bike commute of 2008. We had a bunch of rain overnight, but the morning is gorgeous. The roads were a bit wet, but not too bad. Fun! I definitely see fenders as my next purchase! New construction/traffic patterns on a few roads may have me looking for some alternative routes. |

I could never do that for a couple of reasons. 1. the road to work is so dangerous. They are in the process of widening it and maybe that will help. 2. I sweat and don't have a shower at the library. I don't think that they will put one in for me either. 3. My work clothes are not condusive to biking. Now I could change, but then there is the matter of #2 4. No place to change. I could close my office door, but even that is not always safe. 5. Just trying to get a number five so that I can go to...# 6. 7. The traffic on the road is wild. They like to run bikes off the road. |

My calves are so tight right now though. Ouch. This is a tight calf... So, when we see someone with a ring in their nose, we should tie a rope to it and lead them around? LOL |

Master 2235 Pacific Northwest | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors CHR15 TREE - 2008-03-05 7:34 AM Deoderising 'wet wipes' work nearly as well as a shower... Um, did someone tell you that or did you decide that? I don't think it's "nearly" as well....LOL Seriously, whatever works! I used to commute 14 miles each way back in the old days....riding my mountain bike--the last two miles were all uphill with no breaks. I had no idea how much easier it would be with a lighter bike! Luckily I had a shower across the hall from my office. Even further back in history I commuted by bike, but not as far. I don't remember even being that sweaty....but was probably gross, now that I think about it! I am heading out in a half hour, although it's still only 32 degrees out!!! Gorgeous and sunny though! I don't want to haul my camera with me this morning or I'd take pix. I may change my mind on that.....gotta go get dressed now.... |

My commute is just under 10 miles each way. It took me about 42 minutes this morning. I'm lucky that we've got showers and lockers in the basement bathroom so #s 2-4 are taken care of. They even put in a bike rack about a month or so ago; unfortunately, it's not under cover. The roads and drivers are a bit crazy, but they rarely bother me. I did have someone lay on the horn behind me; I just gave him a nice friendly wave. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors i MAY have had on VS, but it WAS under everything else. no pace car today, well, i don't know, maybe i'll be able to talk him in to it, but that will probably be later this afternoon, he's supposed to be getting me a can of that OC spray from work, but of COUSE i haven't seen it yet, so i think i'm out in the big wide world all alone today. our 10th anniversary is coming up on the 15th (beware the ides of march ) and he asked me last night if i wanted another gift card to VS. hmmmmmmm. interesting. it HAS been like a WEEK since i got any new VS. it SEEMS like it's time. anyway, between our anniversary, and my b-day coming up (day BEFORE cat's ACTUAL birthday LOL) maybe i can talk him in to getting me a new bike!! yeah, that's it!! that's a great plan!! what are YOU doing today my sistah?? how's your neighbor this morning? |

Elite 3494 Renton, Washington | Subject: RE: Peep Jousters: The Original Peep Warriors I commuted to work by bike too back in the late 80's early 90's. I did that till I was hit by a car, after that not so much. Twice a week I would bike from work to the pool afterwards, then I'd bike home. God I was SO fit (And skinny) Ah I long for those days.
I'm going to spin for another 35 minutes tonight. |
