I personally suck at challenges. For some reason whenver I "have" to do something, I don't do it. Don't ask, I'm sure it's some deep rooted issue that I've yet to tackle.....

Also, since I'm not really "cleared for take-off" by the PT's, I can't get commit to anything. I wouldn't want to get in over my head. I learned that lesson early this year by signing up for a race and then not being able to do it. My first and only DNS.

Once again though, I'd love to cheer you all on.

Why am I up? This time is usually reseved for Yanti......

sooooooo, when is my time slot??

I feel the same way about the weight loss challenges - for some reason, every time I enter a weight loss challenge, I go backwards and gain - not good

I haven't done a challenge since December. That one was great though, it really forced me to get my swimming in (not my favorite)!! With all of you talking up the challenge, how could I not jump in? So I signed up . . . I'm sure they love all of us last minute people jumping in . . . LOL!

I've really gotta get my training in . . . ummm . . . after this week! So this challenge will definitely help!

TTYL!
Renee

Hey Renee!  Welcome back to the world of challenges - guess who is on the same team?

Yep, your's truly   Now we really have to be sure to hook up for a ride when I'm back in NE - I probably should have at least some of my training hrs in the Midwest, right?

Hey teammate!   This multi-discipline challenge is just what I needed!  Hopefully I didn't set my goals too high . . . I still don't have the hang of that . . . With the threats of whips and caddle prods I guess I better make it work regardless, LOL!  I'm really looking forward to hooking up for a ride when you have time!  And yep, you better get some of the training hrs here . . . we can't have the Easterners trying to claim you for their team!

Renee

P.S.  LOVE your purple tinkerbell!

Leslie - I LOVE the pics!!!  Thanks so much for sharing!  I was LMAO at the bike/caption for how NOT to run with a bike hahaha  Looks like you were having a ball!

Hey all - I like the idea of a team challenge too . . . could be fun.  I may even have to jump in on the early AM workouts boat if some of you really get that one going.  I do soooo much better all day long (especially with my eating and energy levels) if I get an AM workout in . . . but what I really need is some motivation to get to BED so I can get up for them!!!

Not much going on this week in my logs - I've got a good friend in town (on business) this week and just haven't been able to give up any of the time in the evenings for my training.  The little time I do have at home I SHOULD be spending getting my house in order to have her stay this weekend haha  We are doing the Lincoln Half-Marathon on Sunday, so I know I'll get some time in then!  Then I need to get back to hitting it hard!

Back to work for now . . .

Why am I up? This time is usually reseved for Yanti......

1. You're up because you love me and you are stalking me and following me around. This does not mean you are allowed to love or stalk Mila any less.

2. If we have a Manatee challenge, and I feel one brewing, your challenge will be to post something positive ABOUT YOURSELF EVERY DAY as an example to the team (therefore giving us cheer--and you may cheer us on in any additional ways you like. Again--pics are always appreciated ).

3. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A stalker, moi? You must have me confused with someone else....

Did I ever tell you the story about how Mila "accidentally" sent me her phone number. Yeah....a stalker.

Oh boy, it seems you've set the bar pretty high for me. Every day something positive huh? Well it is May 1st, so I guess I'll start. Of course I'll start small and work my to bigger and better things, cool?

Positive Note of the Day: I'm a good Dad. I do like "my" time and when I do train it takes up a lot of my time, but I think I have a very good relationship with my kids, and I'm proud of that.

On the flipside, lately my spelling and grammar are for the birds. Go figure.

Ok, that's hard. So everybody else better get on the challenge wagon!

So much love Yanti! Of course the feeling is mutual.

Back to the grindstone.

Hey guys!!  For some reason I couldn't find you guys until now???  Who  knows...I guess I was looking for the old group name.

I'm a little bummed this morning.  My dear husband surprised me with a just-us trip in a few weeks.  He's never done this before so I was over the moon about it.  But...then I realized that he scheduled it during my next tri.  The trip is non-refundable, and I'll get over it, but damn I was ready to do another one.  I can't find one that fits my schedule again until July, so I'm going to have a pretty big lull.

On a much brighter note, the scale this morning reveled a TEN POUND weight loss for me over the past 6 weeks!!  Woo Hoo!  Two more pounds to go!

WTG on the loss, Laura!! Sorry to hear about your tri. Try not to think about it when you're on the trip and just live in that moment with your DH.

Ok, since I need to leave for work in about 2 minutes, I'll opt for the easy route on my say something positive about myself for the day. I think I have beautiful eyes. It's definitely the feature that I get compliments about most often. They're really big and really green. Yep, I love my eyes.

Ok, off to work!

Have a great day.

3. CHALLENGES (Manatee)

.... I still need to get my azz out of bed in the mornings, particularly so when I am depressed (as I have been struggling lately) ... it sets a whole different, and good, tone for my day, it's just very hard to do and even more so when I feel like carp.

I don't have problem with the getting up when depression hits (I am a morning person by nature)...it's the getting going/doing something that I have struggled with lately.  My training this past month has been great but everything else has su(ked.  In fact..went to the Dr. yesterday and he wants to put me on some Rx...I'm still not sure I want to go that route.  Challenges work for me because great people like you guys (and gals ) are counting on me and that seems to push me just enough to get me out the door.

i too am afflicted with that dark place. sometimes it will release its ulginess. for me getting outside, sunshine, fresh air, the smell of chlorine puts a definate smile on my face. that endorphin rush of a great run or bike ride will put a huge smile on my face.

Well speaking of endophins, I am about to generate my next dose!!!  I have a 40 minute bike on the schedule for today so I shall sit on the trainer and watch home improvement shows!!!  Then, I will be heading out for a lovely 45 minute romp in the neighborhood.  Should be good and I hope all stray dogs are not on my route today!

I have a pretty good motivator, if only for my stretching. May I introduce my stretching/home workout buddy, Skittles

ETA: Woot, it worked. It's hard to see her in this pic, but she's pretty tiny anyway. Also, does anyone know how to upload pics into logs? Do you have to be a performance member for that?

I'm a performance member, but I don't remember ever seeing an upload option in my log. I link pics there using traditional HTML coding, I'm assuming the normal board MBBS code would work as well.

So, you would first need to upload your photo to either web server space provided by your ISP or to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket, Flikr, etc. For MBBS, it would looks like this:

[_img=http://www.domain.com/image.jpg]

Note that I had to include an underscore ( _ ) between the [ and img in order for it to show the code. When you do it in your log, just remove the underscore and replace the URL below with the URL for where the image you want to use is hosted.

Hope that helps and doesn't actually confuse matters. LOL

Sooooo, based on how long the winter lasted in WI (I fly through Milwaukee almost every friday) the lakes should be warming up in July?
