Well, it's a slow start for me.  It's probably good that it's still really early in the month.  I made progress on my goals Thursday and Friday but Saturday, I did weight training, which isn't part of my goals.  Unfortunately, after my morning workout, I worked in the garden for almost 4 hours and forgot the sunblock.  So, I got my arms and shoulders sunburned (actually have a few little blisters on them today).  Saturday evening, I went for 2 1/2 hour motorcycle ride.  Sunday I was very sore and didn't workout.  Same for today, I bailed on my workout.  The thought of running with the burning arms throbbing was not appealing.  I suppose I could have ridden but didn't feel ready.  I definitely need to get back on track tomorrow.  I think the arms will be better by tomorrow so I should be good to go and make progress for the team.

OUCHY! Hope you feel cooler soon!

Did an early mornin' brick... swim 1200yds, bike 8 mi.... I know it was short, but it was something.... hoping to maybe get in a longer bike tomorrow and follow with a run.
Okay, now to work....

Hi everyone....

Just a quick check-in this morning.  I ran my 70 minutes this morning so I am feeling good about that.  One more super high-volume week to go until the slow taper to the Oly on June 7, with a sprint hopefully on May 26 as a warm up.  The dog is doing well, he loves to run!!  I am behind on my biking but will hopefully catch up this week/weekend.

Good job! I am behind on my swimming based upon some weird tear feeling in my right shoulder. I'm going to try to pull myself out of bed in the am tomorrow to catch up.

I'm going to try to get a little ride in on my way to softball practice tonight...I'm realizing that I over shot on my goals! :-(

You can do it. We have confidence in you. Last month I thought I'd be a little behind; I ended up maximizing every opportunity to reach those goals! Have a great week!

Okay Westies...

Here goes everything.... My May Training (hardcore) begins tomorrow witha brick right off the bat!!

Goal tomorrow??? I'm thinking 1000 yds in the pool (haven't swam since early April or was that March?) and then 9 miles on the bike (experiment ride to the outdoor pool from work and back)

Wish me luck!!!

Great Start! Let us know how it went!

I'm on a rest week, wahoo! This morning I did 2000 yards in the pool, and a 17 mile bike ride. I really need a rest week, mentally. Also, I think I'm still feeling the effects of blood donation from last Thursday. Whooo, I get so light headed when I stand up.

THANKS!  It went GREAT!!!  Took a little bit of extra time to dry off and change (still 45 degrees out here in the am... much like the rest of the rockies).  Did the ride in 32 minutes.  Discovered a bike lane that leads from main rec center to outdoor pool.  Once I reported my time to travel to the boss, he gave the okay to bike to pool as long as I'm not responding to an urgent matter out there.  So now, I will beable to commute/train on the clock.

Maybe by the end of the month I'll have the stamina to bike to and from work.

I thought it looked like a sea lion, I hope you don't have one as a pet.

That is a lot for a rest week! But I'm sure the mental aspect is most important... you've been going so hard.

I also donated blood recently; totally understand about being light headed.

That's great that you can do that on work time! Yes, it's still in the 40s in the mornings here too... but I have no intention of swimming outside in those temps. Hope the pool is heated!

Got my typical Tuesday gym day in yesterday.  4 miles on the treadmill, weights, stretch, swim and then a relaxing 10 minutes in the sauna.  Would this count as a brick since it is multiple disciplines even though the run/swim were not back to back?

On a happy note, yesterday was teacher appreciation day and the Chipolte's in the area were offering free burritos.  So I had one for lunch and then half of one for dinner and the other half this morning for breakfast.

No, I don't have a dog. Just found the picture online. I don't "have" a sealion, but I did name a local one. There is a male that hangs out in the marina I live on. I see him almost every time I kayak or run...even occasionally on the bike or OW swimming. I call him Buju!
