[
I have put in 5 stages for 183 miles so far. Tomorrow I plan to do 40 miles, then I'll be over my goal. If it is allowed, would you mind increasing my goals to 7 stages, 245 miles.

I still can't make changes to the spreadsheet, no matter what I do, so I really appreciate you taking over as captain! Thanks a bunch!

Recorded your results Heidi. I don't know if we are supposed to change the goals but I made the changes for you. I will exceed my goals but will not change them on the team chart. I'll just keep track of them.

Jul 21 - Rest Day

Combo made on July 20, 2008, shows (From L-top) fifteen placed in the overall standings, Spain's 2006 Tour de France champion Oscar Pereiro (Caisse d'Epargne/Spa) receiving medical assistance, after he toppled over a security barrier on his way down Col Agnel (crossing point between France and Italy), new overall leader's yellow jersey Luxembourger Frank Schleck (CSC/Den) riding in the last kilometre ahead of former overall leader's yellow jersey Australian team leader Cadel Evans (Silence Lotto/Bel), Australian Simon Gerrans (Credit Agricole/Fra) jubilating on the finish line and Franck Schleck putting on his new yellow jersey, on July 20, 2008, at the end of the 183 km fifteenth stage of the 2008 Tour de France cycling race run between Embrun and Prato Nevoso (Italy). Australian Simon Gerrans (Credit Agricole/Fra) won ahead of Spanish Egoi Martinez (Euskatel/Spa) and US Danny Pate (Garmin-Chipotle/US).

OK, stage 8 of 10 is complete.  Looking at the formulae on the spreadsheet, it looks like  you can increase your minutes / miles to compensate for lack of stages or vice versa, i.e. if you get 110% of minutes / miles but only 90% of stages, you still get 100%.  In addition, the team % is based on avg of all members of the team, and you can get >100%.  So exceeding your goals and increasing your % to beyond 100% help pull up the entire team's avg.  Go Team Columbia!!

Yeah Heidi!
Only 5 more days left. Every one is getting close to their goal now. Even Roni with her bum knee is over 50%. Now that's team work.
Lets go Team Columbia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Guys & Gals,

I have been keeping a low profile for a while now. Been real busy with life in general and missed a fair bit of training cos my wife was out of town for quite a while and I was home with the kids (really need to get myself a trainer).

But I am back on course again over the last couple of days. Got 2 more stages in for about 40ish miles and am well back on track.

My commutes to work this week should put me over the top. Hopefully the late afternoon thunderstorms calm down a bit cos it gets pretty scary out there when that rain is coming down!

Glad to see everyone else is doing really well on their goals.........What a team!

Great job everyone! I took last night off from riding, after two days of 20+ mile rides. I feel rested today and ready to do a long ride tonight. Hoping to get 30+ miles in tonight. It's really windy and hilly here in Grand Coulee, so it's taking me alot of time to get the miles in. I've been averaging about 13.8 mph yuck! Should make me strong for my next tri though! Anyway, I only have 4 stages and 67 miles to go, so I plan to see you all in Paris on the 27th

Way to go Scott and Roni.
Looks like we are either at 81% or 89% of goal. I don't know which result to take. I would say the lower then we are sure to make it to 100% of goal. Everyone appears to be on track for a strong finish. I have ordered our croussants, juice coffee and wine at a quaint little cafe just off the Champs-Elysees.

I have one more stage tomorrow. An easy 45 minute ride to finish the tour.

What a brutal climb on yesterdays tour stage. I think Iwould have had a hrad time walking up that.

I'm SO looking forward to having champagne and croissants with everybody in Paris on Sun.  We're looking really good heading to Paris.

Stage 9 of 10 is complete for me, but on the spreadsheet, I'm already over 100% because I've exceeded goal minutes by >10%.

Yeah, that was quite a stage yesterday!  The 13.3km climb to L’Alpe d’Huez average 8.6% with 21 switch backs, the 2nd K the steepest at 11.2%!   Question is whether Carlos lead of 2:15 is enough since he's not so good in TT.  The Sat TT is going to be very exciting.

Is the Saturday TT a team time trial or individual. I thought there was a team TT in the TdF also but I may be confusing my races. Darn Alzheimers.

Sat is individual TT.  No Team TT this year, for some reason.

That's too bad I really like the team TT. It was really neat to see the strategy used and the speeds they reached doing them.

Oui, the weather is lovely, and the croissants flaky.
