Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: #57 - I Need a Drink - Gin and TANic Here's my whining/rant of the day: I went to a shoe store to buy a pair of boots last night. I really like tall boots. Tried on a few pairs and I couldn't zip any of them over my calf. I am sad. Apparently, lots of women have this problem. That's what the shoe store lady said. Why can't they make them wider? Now I'm looking at getting a pair of cowboy boots . I like the style, they are comfortable, look good on. But, I'm not sure because it's not really what I planned on buying in the first place. |

Hmmm...not sure what to suggest since I fortunately have not encountered this - though yes, apparently a lot of women have this issue. And since I started running, I've noticed my boots fit more snugly around the calf (not too tight, though), and boots that were a little bit wide now fit "better". Have you looked for the kinds with a stretchy panel (some of mine have this)? Or the ones that are soft material all the way up (ie, the leg of the boot is stretchy or just fabric)? |

I get the ones that have the elastic hidden on the inside. One little piece. They work well. |

ALDO is the only place I've been able to find boots that fit. I've always had enormous calves between high jumping, bodybuilding, and now pretending to tri. ALDO still works. AND they are actually really comfy. |

Some of their boot styles are kinda skanky, but some are normal - like the ones I posted awhile back - the equestrian looking ones. I have 3 pairs of boots from there that I love.
