Subject: RE: swbkrun's group- CLOSEDHey Merry Christmas, hope everybody spent some quality time with friends and loved ones. After a opening gifts, a big breakfast, playing with gifts, then a nap, I went out for a nice casual 20 mile ride. Probably shouldn't have done that as I got a flat and by the time I changed it out and rode back home, I had 2 minutes to shower before dinner. Family was not pleased with that. Also frustrating is that I bought for myself a bike computer (Cannondale IQ114) to use on my spin bike. When I installed it today, things did not turn out so well. First, one of the magnets is missing, but luckily my spin bike already had a magnet on the flywheel. Second, when I tried it out, I noticed; a) The computer was not picking up any cadence at all and b) the indicated bike speed was very very low. Thinking that maybe it was because I needed to use the Cannondale magnet, I took the magnet off of the crank arm and put it on the front wheel. When I did that, I noticed the bike speed went to zero and never indicated anything. When I put the magnet back on the crank arm, it started reading mph (but again very very slow). This leads me to believe that the wires for the speed and the wire for cadence are switched around. But I double checked the instruction and verified that I did it correctly. I'm not sure if I got a bad kit or if it was refurbished, but I am not happy. -Nick |
