Shoeless - 2009-02-16 4:36 PM Wahoo! I just had an awesome, outdoor, 7-mile run. It was 44 degrees when I left. Beautiful running weather! Took 1 minute, 24 seconds off this route from when I ran it two weeks ago.

Nice job!!!!

Team,

i was looking at the log - looks like some a couple of folks might not be all the way up to date - you might want to double check them and make sure the totals are right

I am really sore from all the work I have done at the Flower and Garden show setup, but it is a good sore.  I am hoping to get in an easy swim and spin in the morning before I head to the convention center for more fun.   oooh, did I mention that I received a job offer from one of the designers I helped?  Not that I have time in my life, but it could be an awesome job.  The guy has done a lot of really great projects.

Hey team, fighting a very sore lower back since the weekend so not sure I'm going to come close to my goals. I was in for an hour ride yesterday and today. Somebody needs to talk me out of working out today as my maleness is starting to kick in since I feel a lot better today!

I know in the past, we've done goal adjustments for injury or illness - no need to hurt yourself and risk worsing the injury

you can PM Jenny (jsnowash)  and see what her thoughts are

take care and get better!

I hear you on the maleness kicking in.  I swear my first reaction is to always "work" through an injury or try to come back after too little rest once it starts feeling a little better.

It is only February, however, and you probably aren't racing anytime soon.  Most likely it's best to take a little more time now and let it heal rather than push through it and have it turn into something chronic that bothers you all season

Yeah, going to take it easy until Thursday. Have bowling with friends on Wednesday so I'll give that a shot. If I'm still bothered by that I probably shouldn't be Tri training yet! Part of me thinks swimming might help but I'm going to resist the urge.

I did a morning spin and swim today.  I think that I have put on half a pound of muscle mass this weekend.  Yea for intensive landscape design and moving loads and loads of sawdust and mulch.  The gardens are all done and the judging is underway.

I ran hill repeats today. It felt like my highschool track days, what with the hoodie, the arctic winds, and all. I'm going to try to do this workout once a week, as I really enjoyed it!

I too have actually started to, well not quite like, but not dread hill repeats. I like the little victory each time you reach the top. And yes, it felt good to get the head wet. I wish the pool were closer and had better hours.

Alright folks, I am chipping away at my goals here.  It probably wouldn't be wise to make up all the missed workouts, but I am going to get most of them in.

I didn't oversleep this morning, but decided that it was too early to be up.  I gave it a shot and ate breakfast, but decided I needed the sleep.  I just got back from putting in a great workout though.    I am getting stronger and faster.

ooh, ooh, ooh...

I think that I can safely say that my swim splits are getting faster.  After an hour long water exercise thing-a-ma-jig I did a few laps.  My 100 pull splits were just under 1:45 and my 200 crawl splits were at about 3:30.  I counted strokes per length (something that I have never done before) and I typically came up with 17-20 strokes per 25 yards.

Yippee!!!

A little speed work and some drills in the pool this morning, then noon spin. Tomorrow I'll have a short run outside, so I can make up a few more bike miles in the morning when I do some core work.
