Subject: Maryland traffic question Hey folks, Hope you don't mind me barging in here, but I have a question for you Maryland folks. Anyone know what traffic would be like between 4:30am and 7am on a Friday on I-70? My runners in Van 1 have decided to go up on Friday morning - but our start time is at 7:30 am, so I need to make sure they get there on time! I don't really spend much time in Maryland. Anyone have any ideas or knowledge? Thanks!! |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC 70 heading West should be fine. Heading East (toward B-More) would be a different story. |

You won't hit bad traffic until around Hagerstown. Going into Baltimore is different. Its usually bad from 615 on. |

Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Cool, thanks guys! I've only been up to Cumberland twice, and they were on off-hours and there were no issues. Since I'm not in Van 1, the logistics of this are making me nervous... |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Strates I admit I like the idea of getting a little team spirit going by the addition of flare. Holy crap I had no idea a shoulder holster cost that much. Hopefully we can come up with something on the cheap. |

Extreme Veteran 484 Glen Burnie, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC SCamp07 - 2009-09-12 4:52 PM Did we finalize a day for happy hour next week? I think we need to have a team costume making meeting. And anyone who isn't there will have to get someone else to make their shirt. I like the idea of the wife beater tank top w/a saying on the back, some rips, some blood, and some grease stains. Rick - are you still going to be our costume leader? If you don't have time, I can run by the store and get the shirts. Everyone registered with their shirt size so I can pull them from there. I suggest looking in the dollar store for holsters or something of the like - everyone start looking - and start thinking of the saying you want on your shirt! Josh posted a bunch. Maybe a few of us could get together and make the shirts for everyone this weekend - unless someone has a house and supplies where we could do our happy hour and make shirts. Thoughts, suggestions? |

Pro 4054 yep, | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC May I make a small suggestion for the Gun holsters? Dollar store might have them but I'd also start looking at Halloween costume stores.

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I could host a happy hour / shirt making extravaganza at my casa (in Millersville - right next to BWI) this Thursday, 9/17. I have a minimally stocked wet bar (tequilla, rum, triple sec, burbon, gin, vodka, tonic/seltzer, assortment of beers, mikes lemonade, margarita mix, and maybe a few other things) and ample space for tee-shirt decorating. If everyone brought a six pack or small bottle of booze not on the list above that would cover expenses. I will supply finger foods and we can order a pizza if people want (though I promise ample tasty finger foods). I am having an epidural block (steroid injection into ruptured disk) earlier that day. It's a minimally invasive thing (I've had 5 in the past 3 years) so no down time but not allowed to go to work that day. Will give me ample time to have things in order. Happy hour could begin any time since I'll be home already - I guess whenever people can get out of work and show up. If you stay late enough I'll get a fire going outside (fire is an important theme in Die Hard movies). Let me know if that works for you, fearless leader. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I haven't given any thoguht to the costumes at all .... completely forgot that I was supposed to be looking into that. Khaki pants or shorts, wife beater tee shirt all smudged up, sholder holster and cap gun or something like that. Life has just been too crazy and will continue to be now that kids are back in school! |

Josh - That sounds perfect PM me your addr and I'll email everyone tonight to let them know where we are meeting. 5 or 6? Pick a start time and we can say whenever you get there starting at X. Don't work yourself too hard after getting that shot - we can def order pizza. I wonder if you're within walking distance (or semi-boozed up bike riding distance) to my house... Rick - Don't worry about it. I'll skip shoe shopping tonight and see what I can find. Thanks for offering up su casa Josh! Oh, and there isn't much not on that list.. I'll bring some more mikes cause I love me some mikes |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC Let's make it 6:00, with latecomers welcome. Putting my addy here because I intend to invite other MD BT peeps and don't feel like emailing everyone directly. Will even invite Traci (keep friends close, emeies closer). 1023 Wheatfield Drive Millersville, MD 21108 Sometimes google maps has trouble with that address. If you choose google maps, search for "daniels purchase" and it will get you there just fine. It works fine in mapquest. 4438543049 is my cell if you have problems. There is ample street parking as well as a parking lot at the pool/tennis courts just down the street. PS - No worries Christy - it won't be too much work for me... I was actually planning to make my wife make all the finger foods (she has off that day as well to be my taxi to/from the hospital). |

Extreme Veteran 484 Glen Burnie, MD | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I just sent everyone an email with the HH invitation and the contacts sheet. I went to the store last night and got us some wife-beaters to destroy - they were even on sale Five below turned up nothing good on the side of props - gonna check out Walmart and Party City tonight. Those tips are great - although I think the condition of the legs of the chick who passes me isn't going to take any "sting" out of being passed ;-P. Maybe if it's a guy with no shirt and tight abs, then there is no sting involved except the sting in my legs as I try to keep him in sight up ahead See everyone thursday |

Extreme Veteran 767 Alexandria, VA | Subject: RE: Ragnar Relay - Cumberland to DC I'll be there on Thursday night, Eddie, Karen and Jimmy will not, (they are out of town until early next week, and I promise, they will make the run, no doubt). I will bring some sort of Vermont Microbrew. Are we going to be in need of fake blood, grease, dirt, etc? |
