BigEasy6 - 2009-12-11 10:27 AM Alright folks! New job on top of hours at "old" job are taking their toll. Good thing is I've already lost 5 of my 8 pounds for the month...two mornings in a row the scale told me 213!

Bitterly cold weather has dampened the running, but it will restart tonight with two 10-milers over the weekend. Hopeful to have 25 miles covered over the next three days to help catch up in the running department. I will hit my goal of 120 miles even if I have to run 20 on New Year's Eve!

Let's go inspire some of those that haven't posted much and haven't updated the spreadsheet!

You are a donkey...I have faith in ya!

velveeta - 2009-12-12 9:25 AM Good morning Cookies! I've been a bit overwhelmed with my social schedule this past week - book club, volunteering, attending a holiday party and hosting my own party tonight. Today is the last day of the insanity, though, and I'm hoping to sneak a run in during the cleaning and party prep today. I'm feeling good and determined to make my goals this month (a bit back-loaded this time...). Stacy

I hear ya on the social obligations! You can do this Stacy!

Good evening team.  Who is our team Captain again?  I have to revise my goals.  It's kinda embarrassing but I won't be able to do my 6 hour bike.  I can explain but in PM.  If it's ok for me do that then I'd like to.  Again I'm really not making an excuse, I swear.

Lynne, I don't think we have a team captain yet? I know someone mentioned me but I have no idea what that involves! Sorry you can't do the bike....gotta do what is best for you! Doesn't matter the reason. Hope what ever it is gets better!

cathyd - 2009-12-12 8:50 PM Hi team... sorry I've been MIA but I've been out of commission with a sore neck for the past week.  It seems to be resolved and I was able to do an hour on the trainer today with no pain.  I'm way behind on my goals but hope to do some catch up and stay on track for the rest of the month.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Glad to have ya back Cathy.

BigEasy6 - 2009-12-13 9:31 PM I need to drop my running goal lower or drop out altogether. I went for an 11 mile run on Saturday and my IT issue with my left knee did not react well. I have been dealing with this for about two months and it has been a nagging thing. The short stepping, slippery run on Saturday did me no good. My marathon training starts at the end of January and I want to be healthy for that. I figure I would be able to get another 30 or so miles this month.

Just trying to be realistic and watch out for my overall health. Hope everyone understands.

I completely understand...we must listen to our bodies, no need to hurt yourself for a challenge. I PM Andy to see what we need to do.

Drum roll please....

Time for a standings update for the Du-December Challenge

The Vixens Revisited still are in the lead...

40.3% Vixens
36.0% Frostbite Force
32.8% Evil Elves
29.5% Christmas Cookies

In the secondary "team communication" challenge...  The Vixens are still in the lead....

Keep training and keep the faith....

OK TEAM.......this needs to change! I didn't get my numbers in till today but still we have quite a few that have not entered much..... We need to pick it up. There are a few on the team that need to change their goals, I did send a PM to Andy and will see what he says. Not sure what else to do.

Morning team, I had a very busy but great weekend! we had our "backwards" tri for the Y to raise $ for strong kids, $3,100 and 3 great rounds! 25 min bike, 25 min run/walk and a 45 min power splash class. My hubby joined the madness and actually enjoyed himself! He is a bit sore this A.M. but I think over all he had a good time! Hoping this is the start of him moving a bit more!

Come on people.. lets get moving !  Like most of you I am behind on my goals after missing a whole week of training.. but determined to give it my best shot for the second half of the month and at least come close.   Do it for yourself.. start the new year feeling good about yourself and your training.

Remember the words of Rocky in Rocky 6... 'just keep moving forward'.   If you've been missing workouts forget about it and just start today.. 20 minutes.. just get back in the groove again... it's all about consistency, do something every day.

Don't let the cookies get crushed !!  We can do this !!!

Morning Cookies.
I've been sick for the last few days, but I managed to get a run in this morning. I'm still on target to reach my goals, though, so no real worries.

They opened the pool at the gym tonight!!! I was the very 1st person to get in it!!!!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I swam for 22ish minutes.  Then took off to a Triathlon meeting about Cervelo bikes.  Quite interesting about water bottle placement for more aerodynamics.  Plus the guy giving the talk was incredibly cute!

I won $25 too for losing .5 of a lb. LOL Considering there were only 2 of us that turned up we decided to just split the $50!   Then I got home to all these wonderful birthday cards, a new high speed modem from Clearwire, pair of boots I ordered on EBAY and a $150 cheque!!!!  Schweet!

ok Cookies We really need to step it up here! Like Cathy said, just jump in where you are! I am hoping to run on the new TM's we got...I think I have been saying that for almost a week now! It is a major challenge for me to get into the fitness center! I would rather be outside or even on our short indoor track over a TM but the new ones have their own TV on them and it might make it better for me! Now if I can just convince myself of this life would be good!
Have a great day all!

Go Kim. Like I told my mom about her getting out and walking by herself. "You don't have to like it, you just have to do it- it is better than a gyno visit- which you do AND pay for."
Your backwards tri sounds fun. I wish there were a club within an easy distance for me to participate in regularly here.
Gonna get a bike in at lunch time which is coming up soon.
Go Cookies

Perfect running weather for sure. Once I'm acclimated I like anything between 20-40* F.
