OK. So Team Canada is the team to beat? I got another challenge. Beat my last single swim. Ready?

6300 Meters. 4000 in one set.

I've drawn a line in the sand. Anyone dare to step over it?

I humbly pay homage to So Fresh So Clean. His recent workout of 7000 yards is very impressive. I'm going to slink away, regroup, and try to gather up the courage to attempt something even greater. ALL HAIL KING SO FRESH SO CLEAN!

So Fresh So Clean is my hero!

ALL HAIL KING SO FRESH SO CLEAN!

Keep up the good work team!

Whoa, please stop that king stuff. Thanks

Umm, -5 here, and it's snowing all week! It makes me happy I'm a swimmer, and I don't run outside. Last final is on friday, and you can expect a post-exam swim too. Keep up the good work everyone.

Edit: Woot!! 300th post!

Sorry So Fresh but I want my crown back. I just finished 8300 meters (5 miles plus a 50).

I'm seriously hoping that you won't beat it because I can't keep this up.

LOL.,... In one workout?? Probably not. In a day, of course I will. I will far exceed that in two 2-hour sessions. For me, there is more benefit in doing 5-6k and swimming faster than normal, rather than swimming 8k. If my goal was distance, I'd be training to beat 8k...... but nonetheless... good work!

I'm done.  Finished my 20000m as scheduled.  If things don;t get to crazy during the holidays I might find time to to get to the pool once more before the new year.

Kids are home from school due to the snow storm we are having. First time in a long long time that they canceled school due to bad weather.  Can't wait for the free workout tonight shoveling snow.  Right now I thing we have at least 14" on the ground. Once the city plow goes by maybe 36" to 48" at the end of the driveway.

I must admit with Team Canada having this many members and weather you guys have to overcome make your achievements very impressive but wouldn't it suck to hold the lead this long and find out near the end that there is a "mole" on your team.

Just a thought............

Carry on!!!

Yep - that would suck but one shouldn't worry over things you can't control. From our weekly results we seem to each be in control.

Are you kidding me? Who would do that? The swim challenge is about challenging yourself as much (maybe more) than getting together and challenging others...

BeCivil, are you trying to plant doubt in Team Canada? Get a life (or get to the pool and try and keep up with us).

Good luck, your team will need it.

Hi All,

I am heading to Israel tomorrow for 10 days, so I won't be around for the next little while.  Wishing you all the best of luck with the swim challenge, seems like we are heading in the right direction.  Happy Holidays and I'll catch up with everyone when I get back

Made up for some quiet logging.  Did 3000m today after my 10 km trail run. Can you tell I'm trying to make up for lost time? 7150m of 20000m. I'm on track.

Finals are finished!!! You know what that means! Time to start working out! Coach thought a 7k workout would be in order for the weekend (after yesterday's 4k), and even though I bonked, I loved the feeling of training like my glory days. 51k of 130, and it was convenient that coach suggested 40k in a week was good (40k for the next two weeks would put me at 100%).

I like the canadian results... keep it up!

Well here we go.... another 1100 m this morning for a total of 5150 over 5000. I have reached my goal. You may think that my monthly total wasnt high enough. True, but for someone who was struggling to complete 25 m 3 weeks ago I'm real happy. The more I swim the better I get and I may say that I'm even beginning to like it! I love this challenge as it was really easy to motivate myself. Keep up the good work. Team Canada rules!

Hell ya! I've heard of a story of one guy not able to do 16x25m fly at the beginning of the year, and by the end did 10x400m fly. Swimming has an amazing learning curve. Nice work!

I wish I could get the learning curve thing.  I can do more distance but my velocity seems to stay the same.  URRRRGH. Oh well, at least I know I can do the distance.

Well, after today's workout, I'm up to 13,300. Shouldn't be a problem reaching 20k by the end of the month.. that's just 3 - 4 more workouts. Congrats to those of you who have already reached your goal - I hope to join you soon!!

Wow Im almosti n the same situation as you are! Goal is 20k and after the weekend Im at 12500 so very optimistic about reaching it. The best thing about this challenge has been the increased in distance of my workouts - they were 1500 a session last month and on Suday I swam 2500 in one session without really thinking about it!!!

Two 1400m swims this week will finish my challenge commitment in time for the holidays. This is a slight increase in average distance per swim, and more consistent attendance, over my past several month's swimming. A step in the right direction so thanks to you all, though it's still not back to what I think it should be. It's starting to look like I may also get a chance for another swim or two between Christmas and New Year's that I hadn't been counting on for the challenge but overshooting our targets doesn't hurt.

Good job so far everybody! Keep it up. Go Team!
