rrrunner - 2013-04-06 5:06 AM Oh Froggy, whatever ARE we to do with you! Can't you just stick with a pre-race beer like Salty does?!

Ok. If i can squeeze a few beers in tonight, i'm sure everything will be fine. that is what you mean, isn't it????

So just a quick update. After a frustrating Friday pm, i thought it would be a good idea to take wifey and daughter to the pub for dinner, which would give me the perfect excuse to snick a couple of pints and unwind.

I gazed at the menu in a sort of perplexed way and decided that, with less than 48 hours to go before my first race of the season, i would, for the first time, take on one of their eating challenges.

How dumb am I!!!!

To cut a long story short, i failed to clear my plate, it is now 5am and my indigestion has kept me awake for half the nightCry. I am not sure if i will actually have finished digesting everything before 11am tomorrow, despite thinking that several glasses of red wine might help.

Somebody needs to give me a slap. Ok, just line up behind Salty and you'll get your turn when she eventually gets tiredWink

Wow, I have nothing to say except...why do we have to line up? Can't we get in a circle? :D

oohh. Viscious.    I like your thinking.

9.15 am. just weighed myself. It seems i will be running tomorrow at my heaviest weight since i started a year ago. I thought i was supposed to be making progressUndecided.

Will skip breakfast. Still digesting last nights stuff anyway.

Do you think that a little run this morning is a good or bad idea with my race tomorrow??

FYI i haven't run any further than 6 km since my Oly last August, and i have only done that once (last Sunday to see if i had the legs for it).

Landed in Jakarta safely in the midst of a helluva tropical storm. It's always a cyclone on travel days!

The Hobbit Maid cried when I left the Funny Farm. Out of relief, probably.

I miss my wicked little furry ones.

Oh and I had a crapload to do before I left, of course, and wouldn't you know it the moment I wake up I've got blurry colors and partial vision happening--impending migraine!

Staved off at the pass--the horrendous pain, nausea, photophobia, phonophobia never came on THANK GOD!!!--but felt pretty awful and wiped out as if I'd had one, it was just the aftermath (that's normal. For me, anyway, and some other migrainous people). Also the blurry colors lack of vision persisted for hours and did not help.

But I'm here, and the driver and I are crawling through Jakarta traffic (never helped by a storm) and we might make it home in three hours or so. Maybe two if we're lucky.

Froggy, Froggy, Froggy. You know better than to try to pull all sorts of Yantis like that! Lightweight! Well, at least you're a lightweight at something, the rest of it will come off later.

One more panicked question for the pod.

To swim today or not to swim today????

I have not been in my wetsuit in 4 months. The swim is an ocean wetsuit swim. My plan was to go out and do a 10 minute swim today just to get used to the saltwater and calm my nerves a little. My thoughts against swimming are my wetsuit won't be fully dry by tomorrow morning and make it more difficult to get on? I would have to swim from a beach today so get sand all in wetsuit.....

Making this more difficult as I always do.....

Not at all. Go swim. Also if any tears have appeared or anything's wrong with the zipper, you still have time to fix it. Always thoroughly check and if possible test your gear before races.

Go Tejas!

I'm pulling a Yanti. I'm supposed to leave for south Florida this morning, but instead of walking the dog, showering, and packing I'm posting here. I really need to stop.

This ride has turned into one of those space-time continuum disturbances wherein the longer we're on the road, the longer yet our destination gets.

Of course, that's Jakarta traffic every day.

i can't start the day without a shower!  dog is walked now and I'm showered and trying to pack without Gunnar noticing because he gets so excited and starts the famous german shepherd whine when he sees he is going on a trip!  oh, and i'm going to make a run to Einstein's for coffee and a bagel.  I may be procrastinating.
