Sore sore sore!
Happy to confirm there are muscles under the "winter" coat!
I never knew a plank worked so many areas....

Did manage over a minute plankin today split into two between the rest of the core.

I may go on and put up a picture in anticipation of the after shot!!

Day 4 complete. Finished my swim, moved to the hot tub and did 12 minutes of abs right on the edge of the hot tub and then jumped in for a bit. I'll try to get a picture this weekend, I guess. I honestly don't expect to see massive aesthetic improvement because I highly doubt I'll drop much body fat in these 3 months, which is the main way to really show abs. I eat too much junk.

It's crazy how much muscle definition gets lost in such short time. Doing 25-45 minutes of yoga regularly now and will get back into my normal 30-60 minute core workouts after this weekend (first sprint tri of the season Sunday yeeah). I'd be happy to show you some progress photos, but....(WARNING: newb alert).... HOW DO I POST PICS???

Excellent!  Under the box where you type a reply like this, you'll see some boxes you can check in the left bottom corner.  Click the one that says "attach a file after posting".

Yep! And check size of file...100KB limit.

You can also upload them to a photo sharing site (I use Picasa, since my Android phone automatically backs up all my pics there).  You open the file on that site, right-click, click on "Copy Image Location".  Then in your post editor you click on the icon that looks like a painting, right next to the anchor.  In the "Image URL" field, paste that link (Ctrl-V).  Then click Insert.

You can re-size it in the post from there.  Most of mine are pretty big from the picture resolution.

Day 4 done, after a particularly hard bike session.  Whole body hurts this morning.

I'll work on getting a pic up soon.  At least my belly fat is tan right now. Cool

I have to ask, Switch, were you joking when you said that was Comet in the pic?  Because I seem to remember seeing some pics in COJ of Comet doing stuff similarly wicked and bad a$$.

Since three of you lovely ladies were brave enough, I too will work on posting a week one before pic by tomorrow.

And uh, fellas.....you're MORE than welcome to join the bare abs pic posting party.

Be careful what you ask for, trust me, no one wants that. 45+ years of burgers, beer and fries takes a bit to work off. I'll take one, but I'm holding it back. I might post before and after at the same time in a few months. We'll see.

BTW, I was reminded last night that xfinity has a bunch of free workouts in the "On Demand" menu. We found someone else to dislike. I transferred my dislike from Denise Austin to Jessica Smith. Although I admit that I hope to work my way through the beginner stuff to the advanced stuff as we go through the next 96 days.

True, true...tis the lower BF that lets those abs shine through. If you find yourself wanting to curtail junk, there would be nothing wrong with that;) Such a slippery slope. One day you're committing to 10 minutes of abs, a few days later you're considering dietary changes. Jeez, what's next?

I've given up french fries.  Surprised

<Editor's Note:  Mike REALLY likes French Fries.  Like, gets them with almost every casual meal eaten outside of the home, and is moderately addicted to Five Guys' fries, which are basically crack.>

I did a couple planks yesterday, then GHD situps. Then saw our CF workout included deadlifts, SDHP, jumping over the bar (twists) and ring dips. Those were sufficient to finish the 10 min!

I'm starting to feel it now. Not sore really, but I definitely feel like my midsection and back are getting worked!

So I was going to ask "what the heck are GHD situps?" then I decided to consult Dr. Internet and came up with this:

It's especially funny describing how a really fit athlete did trying them the first time.  Sounds wonderful.  Surprised

Oh yeah, it's a sneaky little sh*t of a machine. So simple, so killer.
I'm feeling them today, for sure.

Like the video says, if a beginner, do no more than a couple sets of 10! LOL. It'll ruin you!

I generally tend to approach the slippery slope like, well, a slip-n-slide: full speed and head first.  I also usually end up overshooting the slip-n-slide and wearing half the lawn on my belly, but it's a fun ride;)

I can't (won't) give them up. I sure eat them a lot less than I used to, but sometimes they just hit the spot.
