I had alot of fun this morning at the race.  The course was pretty tough..it was on mountain bike trails and also in some gravel pit areas.  The mountain bike sections were insanely winding.  I mean it was laughable how windey they were.  There was alot of mud in the last 5 miles as well.  It would stick to your shoe for the next 500 feet until you hit the next mud section and repeat.

They started the 10K and 10 mile at the same time so it was tough to know where I was.  The two guys 100 feet ahead of me split off at the 5 mile mark to head home for the 10K.  I only saw one person up ahead after that and got passed by a really good local triathlete at the 6 mile mark but that was it.

I am thinking I was anywhere from 3rd to 5th Overall but they were slow to get times posted on site after the race so I took off.  They have still not posted yet.  I am happy with the effort.  Finished in 1:10:xx.  I could definitely tell my legs were not fresh but it was a training day so no worries.  I will post again when I get the results back.

Great Job Chris!  I look forward to hearing about it.

Looking forward to tracking the peeps tomorrow.  have a good weekend.

Wow, that is fast! Great job

Amazing how, no matter the distance or number of times having raced in the past, how the race nerves always pay a visit. It's all over but the racing. I'm hoping for sub-6:30. A great day for me would be 35:00/3:30:00/2:20:00/8:00 T1&2. Really hard to gauge though how the bike will go depending on the wind. Supposed to be south 10-20 which would mean a cross wind out and back. Nonetheless, I will be looking forward to finishing my third HIM. Good luck to everyone else out there. Hoping Chris and Ryan's performances rub off on the rest of the group...great job, guys!

I am fairly certain I am not going to workout anymore in March so here are my totals.  I am a bit disappointed in my March swim but overall I am happy with my numbers.

March's totals:
Bike:22h 43m 59s  - 334.37 Mi
Run:13h 20m 32s  - 74.82 Mi
Swim:8h 10m 50s  - 19898.63 Yd
Strength:25m

Not sure what to do about April.  Of course I am racing tomorrow so I'll probably have a slack first week and then I am racing at the end of the month.

Tina is laying here explaining to me all the reasons she would not do a triathlon.  She sure knows how to calm the nerves.  lol  Thankfully she is not stressing me out, more entertaining me.

March's totals:

Bike:

23h 26m 40s  - 435.07 Mi

Run:

16h 49m 21s  - 121.52 Mi

Swim:

11h 50m  - 38850 Yd

My March totals ended with a disappointing last week of me managing my training.  I am still ok with it and I am very thankful to have done this.  I have decided to race today.  I will take the day as it comes.  Everybody else racing have a safe an enjoyable day.

March's totals:
Bike:17h 22m 08s - 350.65 Mi
Run:15h 13m 31s - 115.48 Mi
Swim:7h 00m 50s - 20750 Yd
Hockey:8h 00m

Pretty good month - need some more bike and swim time next month.  Hockey is done so that will help.

Thanks for all the comments on the race.  I appreciate it!

Lance is absolutely motoring right now.  If he runs a half like he did in Panama he may get it.  With Raelert flatting its looking good.

I am going to hopefully ride 90 minutes easy this afternoon.

Well I am back.  My race did not go anywhere near as planned.  I DNS both quads cramped up in my warm up.  I got the cramps out before the start.  At the start the right quad cramped up and then locked up.  My starting pace was 7:55.  I hope this is not how the season is going to go.

Sorry to hear it James. This is your first race back since being sick? I am sure it's not how your season will go. Just need to get back in the swing of it
