Maybe he gave me up for Lent...

Isn't giving things up for Lent supposed to be a sacrifice?

(ok, I am supposed to be on a break, but that was too good to pass up.  am back on my break now.  bye.

Yeah, if I were him I'd be tortured by not getting any action, either...wait, he wouldn't be getting any action Lent or no Lent.

Dude, that's of HIS choice. I am more than happy to respect those beliefs, but I'm not exactly happy about it. One of the few things that sucks about God

Speechless.

How so? I mean, at the end of the day, it's my decision too. But it is one of the few things I haven't really come to accept 100% though I know it's in my best interest, overall. I miss booty, trust me. But things would be A LOT more complicated if we'd gone there.

We're allowed to disagree. Just not allowed to act out those disagreements

Disagree with whom? The big man?

BTW I am not sure if I am supposed to use who or whom.. I suck at grammar.

Yes, the Big Man. If we all believed EVERY single thing in the Bible, we'd all be crazy fundamentalists. And obviously, that's not most people. However, there is a notion of not "cherry-picking" from religion and blatantly disregarding certain things - which is something I know varies from church to church and from person to person. Most conservative Christians will stick very closely to these rules. I tend towards the more liberal camp of thinking, however, I still feel compelled to obey the rules, even if I don't necessarily agree. I do have a few sticking points though, that I cannot get past (ie, the "hot button issues" like gay marriage).

Whom is correct.  If you are unsure, you can just ask yourself the question "Who/whom do i disagree with?"  If the answer is Him or Her, then you should be using Whom.  I'm trying to simplify it for you, so that rule will work 99% of the time.

ETA: I know there's a dangling prep.  For Shelly's sake, I left it alone.

Shun the non-believer...

(And yes, I get the shun, unshun thing from 'The Office' - I'm  just full of witticisms today and thought it was doubly appropriate considering the topics at hand)
