Yes, the Big Man. If we all believed EVERY single thing in the Bible, we'd all be crazy fundamentalists. And obviously, that's not most people. However, there is a notion of not "cherry-picking" from religion and blatantly disregarding certain things - which is something I know varies from church to church and from person to person. Most conservative Christians will stick very closely to these rules. I tend towards the more liberal camp of thinking, however, I still feel compelled to obey the rules, even if I don't necessarily agree. I do have a few sticking points though, that I cannot get past (ie, the "hot button issues" like gay marriage). |
