264.6

I was going to sneak in a 40-miler this morning and get over 300, but I've got my daughter home with me today.

248 miles even though I am not playing. I doubt I'll make 600 miles as I have a race in 2 weeks so I will loose a long weekend ride.

Add me to the list of IMLP2010 participants who had a breakthrough race yesterday.  For me it was the cherry blossom 10 miler.  First real race I have done in over a year.  First one I've been completely prepared for in over 2 years.  I ran a lot of miles over the winter, and lost a lot of pounds, and was able to run in 68:02.  My very ambitious (for me) goal was 70 mins... and I just felt good and was able to execute well and was willing to be pretty uncomfortable by mile 7 and THEN turn on the hurt for the last 3 miles.

This weekend = 10 miles @ 6:48 pace.
previous 13.1 PR = 8:08 pace
previous 10K PR = 7:48 pace.

I literally have not been this fast since high school... and even then I wasn't this fast for 10 miles (it was all cross country races).  Like Fred, I broke my 5K/10K/10mile PRs* (but I'm only counting the offical 10 mile one) in the race.

Congrats to Fred, Traci, Ryan, and Albert as well!

* technically, I've run a faster 5K then my 19 minute split for the last 3 miles yesterday (don't know what my 3.1 split was)... but not as an adult.

Josh you killed it! Congratulations to Fred, Traci and Ryan. I see that we have one competitive group on this thread. I am looking forward to hearing race results throughout the season.

Maybe we should try to make a PR competition? Let's see who can have the most PR's in a season. Or perhaps we should compete with another IM thread.  LP Thread vs Louisville, which thread can produce the most PR's in the season. That might be a fun challenge.

While we are talkin PRs, I might as well throw mine out there. I PRed my half marathon this weekend with 1:56:07. Only by a few seconds but it has taken me a year and a half to get back under 2 hrs after an injury. It was a hilly course too. I was so thrilled. I have worked hard on my running this winter trying to get comfortable being uncomfortable. I also think it has something to do with starting to run with Newtons. Absolutely love them! Running faster at a lower HR and my legs really aren't even that sore today.

Wow, race season (if only running) has definitely started.  Congratulations to all who raced - even more results seem to be coming in!

Pennstate I know how you feel about the days after a race. I had one a few  weekends ago at the very end of a recovery week - and the result after the race was that the whole next week felt hard because I was still sore from the race!  I will beat this oldness though (in body and mind if not in chronological terms)

Ryan you really killed it at your race (seinfeld reference, think Banya ) this weekend. How's your biking and swiming coming along ?

Feeling stronger on the bike since I started riding outside again, but (like I'm sure others are feeling) I'm itching to get some of those epic rides under my belt for some more confidence. Right now, rides over 80 miles are not something I'm going into thinking, "I'm gonna rock this." Heh, it's more like, "I'm gonna survive this."

Swimming is like golf, occasionally it's great, most of the time it sucks. Can't wait to start OWS though.

Two days behind pace, but I'm a procrastinator and I like it that way.

So many great races for many of you guys this weekend!

Congrats to all of you and especially cool is how many PBs set.

The IMLP BT crew is going to be quite impressive this year...besides fast, you all are very supportive and encouraging of each other.

I wish I could play the 600 mile month but I'm doing a 70.3 in 2 weeks which takes a big chunk out of training.

So, I'm mostly doing fig newmans now for nutrition on the bike, though I always used to use GU Gels and may supplement with them. Does anyone use the figs for actual race day? I was calculating how many I'd need to carry with me, and it seemed a little crazy.

Also, can you buy GE powder? I can't find it anywhere at the usual stores (Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, etc.). It's very frustrating, because I'd like to start training with it!
