Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey CycloneVM, I started Jorge's Plan this year instead of last year due to much more needed time to recovery mentally from IMAZ 2015 (Sorry Donto!). Anyway, after you complete Jorge's Plan you can do whatever you want but make sure you do at least 1 hard work out (1 hour) a week and a long bike ride on the weekend when you can. Another bike ride would be helpful too. Trainerroad has some nice workout options to keep things interesting as well. During the offseason, I like to ride at least 3 times a week to keep my legs moving. I focused on running the past few months but ended up injuring myself. ![]() Roland |

I'm a little over halfway through The Evil Jorge Power Plan. Started my first test in week 3 at 264, added 9 watts the second test in week 7 (both 20-minute...not doing the 5-minute tests though I might at the end). The 6 x 4' @ 107% workouts have destroyed me pretty good, just like a I remember from the last time I mucked around with this plan like 10-12 years ago (at least). Another test tomorrow. |

Those 6x4'@ 105+% are nasty, hehehe. I'll poke around this thread this year as I'm gonna try and hit 4.0watts/kg again this year. I lost about ~20 watts of FtP power since I focused mostly on running the past 3 months and I can tell my bike legs are not as strong as a year ago. I'm on a Trainer Road program week 2 doing some sweet spot stuff before the hardcore torture comes in a month or so from now. Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Another FTP test week completed! Gained about 8 watts for my FTP at 3.5 watts/kg. Getting back to 4.0 watts/kg by the end of the year might be attainable at this point with some tiny downtime early summer. We will see! ![]() |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I wound up bailing on the last few weeks of the plan due to illness and scheduling issues, but still raised my FTP from 260 to about 275, so exactly 3.0 w/kg. At 56 years old, I'll take it. I have noticed definitely being stronger outdoors, especially on false flats, etc., and being able to hold higher wattage without my HR rising too much. |

Now if I can keep my weight where it is now or a tiny bit less while building fitness I have a good feeling I'll hit 4.0watts/kg by the end of the year.
