Great Race everyone - even though we were racing through a hail storm and mud up to our ankles it was a good time. See you at White Lake...

Any stories out there?

It was a great time!  GyGy and I got caught in the hail storm on the bike, all we could do is laugh and say "good times, good times".    We will always remember the race where it poured rain, hailed and then we had to run through mud pits to get to the finish.  Too bad the front runners didn't get to experience all of the bliss!

A huge kudos to the volunteers who actually stuck it out in the rain to make sure the racers knew where they were going.

Any idea when they will be out?

Congrats on the race....I took the spill on my bike man!!  I got WAR WOUNDS!! from my 1st tri!!  But I finished it....and I had a blast...the weather sucked!!!  I was in the rain, cold, wind during the entire bike course....my arms were pretty numb time I got to T2...and I was lookin forward to the run so I could warm up.!!! The run course reminded more of a WWI battlefield coming behind the aquatic center...MUDD and more MUDD...it was all tracked out when I got there and it was only lacking the barb wire fencing, and machinegun fire and I would have been right back in basic training!!  LOL.  How did you do???...other then the wreckage and the weather I had a blast...and I am a Triathlete now!!!

According to the Setup website, results will be posted by 9:00 p.m. tonight (3/30).

Below is a pic of how hard it was raining.  No, the pic isn't fuzzy, the rain was coming down so hard you could hardly see in front of you...

Great job to everyone who survived the hail, wind, and driving rains at MAP! I managed to finish 5 minutes before the hard rain and eventual hail started. I felt fortunate to say the least. The run was muddy and turn-arounds at cones should be banished. I nearly fell twice around the cone at the top of the hill. Not to mention the steeplechase jump I had to pull at the mud pit on the trail behind the pool. It was fun and I can't wait for Belew's and White Lake. Hope to see some of you there

I had a great time even though I FROZE at the end .

To say the least I feel blessed to be a good swimmer, I missed most of the bad stuff accept for the wind on the bike course and a little rain at the end.

If you finished in that you should have gotten BONUS time off of the final time :0 that was terrible.

Cannot wait for the next race!

Heather

OH AND PS GREAT JOB QCTC~! I am so proud of all of you!

My wife Shelley and I both enjoyed our first tri on Saturday. What a great facility. Big thanks to all of the volunteers. At least we were moving and had a chance to keep warm(er). I bet that run course would be fun dry, but.......what's up with that run course? Anyway, what a race to have as our first. Won't soon forget it.

MAP is probably the worst run course of the whole series but it is still a very popular race. Glad you and your wife both enjoyed the race.  Hope to see you at one in the future.

Congrats to everyone for finishing strong in the crazy weather and thanks to everyone who hung around to watch us slow pokes finish.    I actually took the time to dry off after the swim to try to keep from being cold on the bike, what a waste of time.  LOL.

I ditto my wife's congrats to all who endured MAP on Saturday = My A$$ Placed!!  LOL...or could be Mudd & Precipitation triathlon!!     It was big day for us all and the QCTC gang all did well in my book...it's not about so much winning or beating the clock...but the fact you stuck it out &  made it through rain, hail, wind & accidents ( this was me - bike ownage!!  LOL ) could keep us down....your all champions.  Lookin forward to the next one - it's Latta for me and GyGy..so...train on my friends and fellow triathletes......cya on the start line in June!!
