I'm a safety representative for one of General Motors foundrys.
I was a Millwright/welder/fabricator/industrial electrician for 13 years
I've got a feeling that soon I'll be going back to that.

My first career was as a United States Marine. I was in the infantry (0352, Anti-tank Assault Gunner) and I loved it... but as it turns out, I was sent in a different direction through mysterious ways. I got out of the Marines with a medical discharge (that I fought) and found out that there is not a single civilian job that uses TOW missiles, go figure.

I went to UNC Greensboro and got my BSN (nursing) and have spent the last 7 years as a critical care/trauma/ER nurse... and I am now working as a flight nurse, which was my ultimate goal when I went to nursing school. I have managed to get my CCRN and am testing soon for my CFRN. I am seriously considering getting my paramedic in addition to all these just to be more marketable... I work side by side on nurse:medic teams and would love to be able to fill either role.

Hey Phoenixazul,

I read your earlier post about work, it's tough out there isn’t it. I've been recruiting in roughly the same market for the past 10 years and I have never seen anything like this. I just keep my fingers crossed that 2010 bring about a significant improvement!

Best of luck securing something permanent in an area you obviously feel so passionate about.

Should be a pretty fun gig!  Laughing

Well I used to work for Luminant (formerly TXU before the KKR buyout) and my book had all of that wind in it. I had 900 MW of wind PPAs that took a beating. I work for another Integrys now and do trade in west zone, where all of that wind generation is, on occassion when I see value there (not often). You must work for FPL. I grew up in WPB.
