How do they compare to the 3? I found some in a bargain bin a few months ago so they're brand new and ready to go. I have Pro Race 3 on the wheels now. Any opinions of the 2 over the 3 or vice-versa? My experience is mostly on the P2Rs, over 5,000 miles on two sets and no flats until I wore all of the tread off of them. Actually I've heard of more problems with the P3Rs than I ever heard with the P2Rs. I have no clue how you get that many miles on Michelin tires. My rear was always sqaured off significanly at 1,500 miles. The fronts would last longer, but definitely not 5,000 miles. GP 4000 are getting out 2,500 on the rear and the front again more but not sure how much more. Your definition of a tire in good condition must be completely different than mine. My experience is not unique, the reason I went to the Michelins yearsa go was because of similar durablity testimonials. I do rotate my tires every 500 miles or so, so they wear evenly (I know, some people are against this ). If I had to spend $80 on tires every 1500 miles I'd be chasing other alternatives as well. My definiton of good condition for a tire is one that holds air and the road. Not sure what more you would include. |
