I need to get one too.  Let me know if you find one.

What are ya'll wearing on your bottom half?  We can't show up in mullet wigs and regular running clothes.  That would just look silly.

Any suggestions?  I still want to do leg warmers.

I have to do the half + 7 too so I'd like to run with some of you that are doing sub 9s. Any particular place to meet up?

rgr375 - are you doing the +7 before or after the half? Or splitting it?

Not really a sub 9, thinkI can manage for the half, we shall see. Not sure where to meet. Think I am going to go there friday night, check things out.

I think I'll probably do at least two before the half starts as warm up anyway, but I'm willing to run whatever I have left with you afterwards though.

I'm going Friday night as well to check in and pick up packets. I'll PM my cell number and we can meet up. Or maybe even Saturday (the race is Sunday, right?).

As for race day, we'll meet at either my car or the trixie truck. It will have a bigazz martian on it and me / trix making noise, in the parking lot outside the check in. I'll be there early, so I'm sure to have a spot.  You've gotta believe me when I say you won't be able to miss us.

Ha, well I feel really dumb. I misread the website awhile back I guess. I thought it was Saturday. So, I guess that means I'm out because I can't fit it in on Sunday.

Have fun all,

Looks like sun and warm for the race?? seriously? Just when I was getting used to all this crap weather That will be nice if it stays that way!

Hopefully I can find some of you out there. I plan to be in my Infinite Multisport tri shorts, maybe top (if its warm enough early enough), and white Infinite hat. OUr uniforms are yellow/black, so fairly hard to miss even if im only in the shorts

Am I still looking for mullets guys??

Although I'd love to see my pals, I will be celebrating my youngest daughter's 2nd birthday party.

Cake is carbo-loading, right? ... and ice cream has calcium and a little milk protein ...

I was going to ask this at packet pickup on Sat, but you all are experienced marathoners... Is there a place to drop off clothes/warm-up stuff like a gear drop or something? I don't want to have sit around before the start in the clothes that I'll be wearing for the rest of the race. I'll freeze my rear off!

Start temp will likely be 40 or less, and by the time I drag my rear over the line it will be close to 60 or more. That's a big swing for a guy who hasn't run in temps warmer than 45 since last fall!

had to edit ... that's not entirely true.  It was close to 50 degrees when i ran for about 20 minutes last night.  :p

I just looked at the forecast again.  Its been changing all week.

I might actually get sunburn!

Weather Channel is saying 39 and sunny at 8am, 60 and sunny for the high.

That's funny, its showing warmer for Fenton which is an hour north ... that's not normal.

Nice!  There is something about Felts that I like.  I don't know what it is.  Perhaps the fact that my first non-mtb/non-bmx was a felt ...

Matt....no gear drop, so you're wearing what you're wearing. The parking isn't that far from the start (if you get there early enough), so doing your warm-up by running back to the car to drop your stuff off is feasible.

For the marathon between 40-60 degrees, I'd wear a short sleeve shirt, and a running jacket (like a PI shell, or something light). That will be plenty....and will protect you in case of wind. 40 and no wind, you might be able to pull off short sleeves only. 40 and windy, and it'd be a life of misery. So take the running shell, and depending on your temperature, you can keep wearing it, or peel off the shell and tie it around your waist, or pass it off to a friend that's not running as far. Shorts all the way at 40 degrees. But that's just how I'd play it.

Allright, here's the deal for the Martian Weekend....

Saturday....swim early, go down around 10 or 11 to pick up packet, then jet up to Stony Creek to ride OUTSIDE for 2 hours ez. And I mean EZ, then (hopefully) carbo load. I've got a call in to Robyn to figure out when / where.  Anyone that would like to join me for packet pickup would be great, and moreover, anyone interested in 2 hours out at Stony going EZ on the bike is welcome too.  It's going to be 55 or 60 on Saturday, too good to pass up riding.

Sunday....run.  We MAY be in mullets, I couldn't find any wigs like I was looking for. But as far as a meet-up, I'll get to the race early on Sunday and get a good parking spot in the close-in lot (white Nissan Altima) with a huge purple martian on the roof.  My cell is 248 705-8204 if anyone gets lost/wants to call/etc.

It doesn't really matter what we wear... we are loud enough that you will know who we are from 10 miles away.

I'm planning to be down there for pickup around 10am Sat.  I'll keep an eye out for you.  I'll make a quick spin through the expo then I've got to get ready for daughter's party.  How early should I be there on Sunday?  I've never run a stand alone road event, ever.

Thanks for the advice on the gear.  I pretty much always wear a sleeveless base to avoid bloody nips.  I'm thinking I might throw a long sleeve over that and a sweet ET tshirt if it shows up in time.  I'll peel off the long sleeve when it warms up.  Shorts for sure.

I was considering a hi-vis tshirt to equalize the glare of my uber-white legs , and so the family can see me coming, but I think ET is far more appropriate.
