Pre-race routine:

Only slept a couple of hours, tried to stay in bed as long as I could then jumped out threw everything in the car and took off.
Event warmup:

Biked around the marina area and did some small hills on the bike.

Comments:

Not in my best of moods so I went out HARD. Good ride for me although I faded a bit at the end.
What would you do differently?:

More even pacing.
Transition 2
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

Pissed around a bit too much. Did not prepare well for T1 at all. Still had normal laces which take significantly longer, had a drink...not enough hurry young man!! But then it is a friendly race, if such thing exists for me.
What would you do differently?:

Mentally prep better, put in the quick laces.
Run
  • 31m 55s
  • 4 miles
  • 07m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

That first hill was absolutely brutal for me. I rode HARD and struggled getting up that hill. Good run though, I wanted to break the 8min/mile pace and did it by a whopping 1 sec :-) I did have a strong finish, last half mile I gave it all I had.
What would you do differently?:

Little easier on the bike so I can start running a bit more aggressively.
Post race
Warm down:

Some stretching, some good chatting with the other BT-ers, a nice cold beer from Dill (thanks!!) and various rounds of applause for the BT-ers taking overall series honors!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I gave it all I had.

Event comments:

Always a fun race, gorgeous day...perfect way to spend my Saturday. Cool to meet the BT-ers they are a great crowd!!

Hey B, great job out there... good to see you again too.

Strong race even if you were in a pissy mood... that's called running angry.
