Comments: I started out OK I reckon. Within the first 100 yards we where running in mud and wet grass, so you could only go out so fast. The rain started coming down more at the start of the run however it had rained all night so the course was very muddy. We got onto the trail and the footing was much better and I tried to settle into a pace. The trail is not that wide and it was hard to pass people, if two runners where running side by side or taking some time to pass, you could not pass. I felt good for the first mile (7:30ish) and the second toward the end I began to slow. As we came out of the woods we got back into soggy grass and mud you really had to watch your footing. It must have been aroun 2.7 miles I saw that someone had lost a shoe in the mud. I was trying to keep my pace up at this point and hoping to finish under 24. The last part of the race finishes on the track. I came onto the track and a guy passed me, so I just stayed right behind him, but that must have gave him an extra gear because he just dropped the hammer. I finished a little over 24 minutes, but the conditions made it a slower course. I did get 2nd place in my AG so that is cool. What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race

Walked around a bit, stayed out of the rain and then a little jog to warm up before the start
