Swim
Comments: It was pretty foggy outside and my goggles didn't help that situation. So, I was glad I could swim straight and stay on course even though I couldn't see well. I didn't feel that strong in the swim but it was probably because of the wetsuit. I felt like I was just swinging my arms in front rather than pulling with them. What would you do differently?: Buy new anti-fog goggles. Train more. Transition 1
Comments: 3rd Fastest T1! My wetsuit got stuck around my left ankle because of the time chip. But other than that, I was pretty quick. Bike
Comments: I felt pretty good on the bike and eased up the hills. There were times when I second guessed how hard I should work because I wanted to save some strength for the hilly run. I started the bike in about 10th place and saw 2 women pass me halfway through. I ended up passing 2 other women which put me back in 10th overall. What would you do differently?: Work harder on the bike and don't be as concerned about 'saving' some effort for the run. Transition 2
Comments: 2nd Fastest T2! Considering how far my bike was from the entrance, I transitioned pretty fast and ran well with my bike. I racked my bike quickly, slipped on my shoes, grabbed my race belt, visor, and watch...and ran out. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: 4th fastest run time overall. Not bad. :) The last 2 miles were very hilly. I felt pretty good on the run and pushed through some pain around mile 2. When I came over the last hill and saw Steve, I had a guy challenge me to the finish. I gave it all I could and sprinted towards the finish line. I ended up beating him, but he probably let me. :) Thanks to him, I was able to reach my goal and beat my time from last year by 3 seconds! I wouldn't have done that without him. What would you do differently?: I had trouble with my garmin when I first started the run. I hit start but then somehow it shut off. So I had to turn it back on and wait for the gps to pick up before restarting it. So, I lost the first half mile of time and didn't know what my pace was. Next time, make sure I don't knock my watch against by body and turn the stupid thing off. That cost me several seconds just fiddling around with that. Post race

Got dressed, drank coffee, loaded bike in car, drove an hour to Carrollton. At the park, I set up my transition area, got body marked, and grabbed my chip.
Rode my bike for about 5 minutes to make sure the spedometer was working, ran for about a 1/2 mile, put on my wetsuit, and swam for about 2 minutes.
