I did, I did !!!! What fantastic weather. I got sunburned arms and shoulders on the bike. I have no idea how I did time wise as I don't keep track on my own. I definitely wasn't as fast as you two. Good job.

Another question for veiwers of this link??

When I got off the bike and started the run I could hardly move due to my calf musle cramping.I strolled like a penguin for over 1 km.Does this happen to anyone else and whats the best way to combat this in the future? I seriously came close to stopping. As of Sunday night and this morning I can barley walk.

1:26:07 ~ I'm very happy with that as my goal for this race was to have 1:30. I am not a fast runner so to run a 27 minute 5 km after a bike leg is great for me. I bet I lost at least two minutes in my swim/bike transition from being unorganized.

Re: cramps ~ Low sodium perhaps. That's a major cause of cramps. Were you drinking just water or sport drink?

No straight bottle of water on the bike with a gel.

Good job on the race!!!

I thought it was alot of fun.I'm in imense pain today but it was worth every minute.

I was looking at the race results on line and I have a question: Say my swim time was 12:03

Now does that include the transition and can you tell how long the transition took?

Thanks.

I think the swim time was clocked at the mat right outside the leisure centre. Then your bike time includes your dash to transition as well as T1 time. Then run time includes T2 time switching shoes etc. I'm pretty new at this too so I'm not positive, but I think that's how it went judging by the timing mat placements. I'm not sore at all, but I didn't push much on the bike as I was too busy sightseeing. Also went for a ride Sunday so that might have helped keep things from getting stiff.

Nice work guys.

I'm so proud that my friend did this tri as her first tri. I ran her first HIM with her and she just kept going from there.

All tris are different with the transistion stuff. It just depends on where the timing mats are placed. In previous years, T1 & T2 were included in the bike time.

Yea T1 and T2 were both included with bike split. As to cramping in the calves when you started running could just be your not used to running off the bike. if thats the case you sould do some bricks.

Thanks 77.

Can hardly walk today either..........I think I ran out of sodium with a combination of my bike not being set up properly.I looked at some video my daughter took and mt knees are cocked out while I'm riding.I'm pretty sure my seat is to low. What are bricks?

Training for two or more sports right after one another is a brick. Say, do your swim, then go out for a run or do your ride, then get out for a run. I'm not sure if it has to be immediately after or just in the same day to have the benefit. I am usually so pressed for time that I can't do them right together, but am going to force myself to get off the bike earlier so I can do bike/run bricks.

The whole point of a brick is to get you used to going from one sport to another. So, the idea is you do, say a bike ride, then right after you get back home you take of your bike shoes and put your running shoes on, just like you would in T2 and go for a run.
