Run
Comments: Maybe I should have started off faster, but I've just not been strong on the run lately. I've got a lot of work to do there. What would you do differently?: Not much except train more. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good here. Maybe could have run more, but I was sneaking a break. Bike
Comments: I was actually looking forward to the bike, which is a real change for me. I started out pretty strong and passed a lot of people. After the turn, we had the wind in our faces, which slowed the pace a bit. Kelly O and I leapfrogged the whole way. He passed me on the uphills and I smoked him on the downside. Advantage of the extra weight. What would you do differently?: Maybe go a bit harder. I think I had a little more left at the end. I still can't believe that I was 1st in my AG on the bike. Those must have been some slow girls out there. Transition 2
Comments: As I came into transition, I saw Jeremy’s bike on the ground. After racking my bike, I racked his. Then I changed hats and left my gloves. Kind of fiddled around a bit. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Maybe hustle more. Run
Comments: As soon as I was out of the park, my right knee started hurting. Earlier I had fallen on it and it came back to haunt me. Then my left foot started to hurt. I think my shoes were too tight. I suffered the whole time and had to walk 4 times. That sucked. Sucked a lot. What would you do differently?: Not fall and twist my knee. And train more on the run. Post race
Warm down: After the finish, I walked to find Jeremy and got some food. Yummy race rolls from Great Harvest! Then we hung around and chatted with people from the RAC course. RAC was well represented as most of the class was in the top half of their AG. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just slowness. Avg HR- 168 Max HR- 180 Event comments: Good race overall. It’s great to have races so close to home. It was a nice start to the season, even if it was more running than I would have liked. Last updated: 2008-03-01 12:00 AM

Normal morning stuff- fed horses and had coffee and breakfast. Figuring out what to wear was a real challenge since it was cold, but not windy. I decided to err on the cool side since running hot sucks.
Took the bike out for a couple miles and then ran a little. Probably not enough warm-up, but I was running out of time. Stood around and chatted with several people while I probably should have been running or riding. Oh well, warm-up is always a problem for me.
