Total Time = 2h 50m 45s
Overall Rank = 508/2500
Age Group = M30-34
Age Group Rank = 70/241
Pre-race routine:

Slept in my friend Lisa's car. Legs were cramping at night... ate half a banana and a power bar and drank water.
Event warmup:

Rode my bike to the transtion area from the camp ground. Swam for 20 seconds, ha ha! I stretched for a good 10 minutes.
Swim
  • 28m 41s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 45s / 100 yards
Comments:

The first part of the swim was rough because ppl kept bumpting into me. I
What would you do differently?:

Start in the front so I'm not blocked by slow swimmers.
Transition 1
  • 02m 40s
Comments:

Had a good transition but lost 10 seconds trying to find out if my socks were inside out or not. Oh well!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
Bike
  • 1h 27m 35s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 17.02 mile/hr
Comments:

I did the best that I could so I have no regrets.
What would you do differently?:

I have to fix my chain problem. Had to stop once to fix it and lost a good 30 seconds. I need to do more biking so my legs don't cramp up.
Transition 2
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

Could do a better job in this transition but again I did the best that I could.
What would you do differently?:

Have shoes with a fast lacing system
Run
  • 49m 44s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

I had to stop 3 times and stretch because of cramp and still averaged 8 min. miles. Not too bad!
What would you do differently?:

Do a lot of brick workouts so my legs don't cramp up on me.
Post race
Warm down:

Had ice put on my quads and ate a lot: pretzels, bananas, power bar, strawberries, oranges, ... I stretched and put a cold towel over my head.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramps in my quads after the bike.

Event comments:

I would do this race again but I will need to find a better way to spend the night the night before. Sleeping in the car was definitely not a good idea! I need to do a lot of brick workouts so my legs get used to the beating and then be able to run right after that.

Great job getting under 3 ! You were a few waves in front of me, and I agree about the more bricks thing, its really hard to properly train for this course without actually doing it.

Hey!  Excellent job on the event.  You had one smoking time out there.  I wish I had slow runs like yours!   8 minutes is not bad on a tough run like this..

Woo Hooo!
