Just though I would "check in" with you peoples.
I'm a 45 y/o 225lb newbie. I have been a fairly avid cyclist for the past few years. Nothing too serous...I get in 1 or 2 centuries a year mainly charity rides. I also try to go mountain biking as often as possible.
I have made the decission to pick things up a notch and try the tri thing. I am glad I found this site. I look to get ideas on training, nutrition and get some motivation from others.
See ya around

Hi Jay, welcome to BT! You will find lots of ideas and tons of motivation here. The training logs are fantastic!

I'm in Cary, and really just getting into Tri's. Are you familiar with any of the cycling/running/tri clubs in the area?

Give me a shout if you want to get together for some workouts sometime.

I did the 37 mile New Years Day ride from the Spin Cycle. I use to ride with a "club" from Apex a couple of years ago but I kind of let that go for various reasons. I would love to find some other people to ride and train with. My cycling is not really the area that needs work. I haven't done any running since I was a 2 mile guy back in high school...whew....i don't even want to think about how long ago that was. I know it is going to be tough at first but I think i will get through it ok.
I have looked at the training programs on the site here and I fall somewhere between the couch to spint and the sprint so I will just have to adjust the sprint one a little for me.
