Checked out the fog boiling off the lake
Swim
  • 23m 19s
  • 1094 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

Didn't have my game face on today, probably just abit tired from swimming 8400 yards this week for IM Training. My swim was good, I didn't struggle, did free the whole way, I just didn't push it today.
What would you do differently?:

Wake up
Transition 1
  • 01m 55s
Bike
  • 50m 24s
  • 18 miles
  • 21.43 mile/hr
Comments:

Sort of woke up for the bike about 1 mph slow for me on this route.
What would you do differently?:

Had a helmet cam to take a picture of the look on the YOYO's face pushing her mountain bike to the left side of the road, at the start of a up hill after a down hill (i know they said something about that stuff in the race liturature and the pre race brief!) as I yelled at her to freeze as I wizzed 2 foot from her front wheel (she was on my right) going 45 mph with the shoulder of the road 2 foot to my left. I could her others yelling at her as I topped the hill! Bet she doesn't do another TRI!
Transition 2
  • 01m 32s
Run
  • 35m 11s
  • 4.5 miles
  • 07m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

I woke up for the run. My best time for this course on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

2 ice cold fully leaded Cokes

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No tapper since this wasn't my A or B race and it fell in the middle of IM training.

Next year I am going to request first wave on all of my short, long, and OLY TRI's so I can finish the bike before the YOYO's get on the course!

Event comments:

Love this event very well run and organized little TRI, which is why it draws people from other states NE, IA, OK, AR, etc.

Great job finishing with your LIFE and BIKE in one piece.  We've all seen newbs do stunts like you describe.  We were all newbies at one time, but knowing that I was new meant that I paid CLOSER attention to race rules and got the hell out of the way of more experienced racers.  This is what seems to be the problem....too many newbs enter a race without considering everyone else on the course and a lack of attention to staying out of the way of faster racers.

Great job!  Fast as greased lighting as always!

Next step.....IRONMAN WISCONSIN!
