I have no problem uploading my cycling workouts to my training log, but I can't get any of my running workouts to load (it keeps telling me there are no running workouts). Within the Garmin software I have created my workouts as running workouts, but they always upload to my computer in the Biking file folder. I assume this is the problem with my running uploads to my training log. Anyone have any advice for setting up my running workouts so they can be uploaded to my training log???

Sorry if I have misused uploading...I can never figure out when you are downloading and when you are uploading???

Your post confuses me a little to be honest....

However, never ran into that problem.

If you are creating a workout on your computer, make sure it's in the run directory if it's a run workout and in the bike directory if a bike workout (of course).  Then import TO your garmin.  Should be fine.

If you are importing a workout that you did into Training Center FROM your garmin, and it's in the wrong place, was it in the right mode during your workout?  "Run" if running or "Bike" if biking?

With GPS devices, and gadgets in general,  'downloading' refers to moving data on to the gadget, and 'uploading' refers to moving data from the gadget to a computer.

When you're looking at the history on the device itself, are the workouts listed under Running or Biking?

I am creating the running workout in the Running directory (and I can see the workout in that folder right now), but when I upload the finished workout to the Garmin Training Center it automatically gets uploaded to the Biking directory. I can then move the workout to the Running directory and the workout type changes to running automatically. I'm not sure why my uploads always default as a Biking workout when I upload them.

When I look at the workouts in my actual device I don't have any directories or workout types listed...just a list of workouts with no reference to biking or running unless it's in the title. Should I have directories on my device...or some way to tell what type of workout it is?

Thanks for your comments so far! I'll keep searching the Internet and see what I can find...

kjlee8,

I don't know if you've had any success with this yet - it's been a while since your original post.

I am dealing with the same problem.  The unfortunate thing is that it worked properly the first time I tried it, so I didn't pay that much attention.  Since then, I have not been able to get it to work right again.

I go into Garmin's Training Center software, download the sessions from my Edge, and specify which ones are running vs. cycling.  However, the BeginnerTriathlete training log goes directly to the Edge, instead of the Training Center software.

I'll have to see if using a separate profile makes a difference.
