Swim
Comments: Not my best swim ever, but still good considering: (1) the recent shoulder problems; and (2) the fact that I didn't wear a wetsuit. Drafted off the same guy for a long time, then took off on my own. Only problem was the number of swimmers who literally stopped dead in the water making navigation a bit difficult. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Not hurt my shoulder? Transition 1
Comments: This is an estimate as there were no T1 and T2 times, which I hate. I had to yeall at the girl next to me who was sitting down on a laid out towel pulling on shoes and blocking my bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: A really good bike for me. Despite the training volume I was able to crank it and put up a solid ride. Could have gone a little faster, but navigating around people was a little difficult. Plus I rode in only my bathing suit and I felt it riding up a little so I spent some time pulling it down as not to be indecent. What would you do differently?: Nothing (well rest and taper, but that wasn't happening with this race). Transition 2
Comments: A little pokey. I decided to put shorts on for the run, which got kind of wet and stuck. Run
Comments: Yeah, so I sucked at the run. First I didn't drink enough on the bike (not even a half a bottle so I got a nasty side stitch), second my legs generally hated me through all the up hill and then I got dizzy on the trail part and third the week's volume really got to me. I should be able to have a stronger run, but it wasn't in the cards for today. What would you do differently?: Ummmmm not be training for IMKY. Post race
Warm down: Bottle of water, then I took Abbey swimming in the pond. She was a very happy puppy. What limited your ability to perform faster: IMKY training. Last updated: 2008-05-23 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:45 a.m. My mom came over to help me load the car and jock strap for the day. Ate a begel with peanut butter and drove up to Massachusetts.
Nothing really. They confused my registration, which took about a half an hour to figure out leaving my 15 minutes to set up transition and pee before the race started.
