Swim
Comments: Some lane congestion. Couldn't keep a rhythm. Had to walk behind a few people who were swimming side-by-side. What would you do differently?: Dunno. How to deal with lane traffic, especially when you can't get around them? Transition 1
Comments: Forgot bike shoes. Had to put on running shoes. Problems getting them tied. What would you do differently?: Um, not forget bike shoes. Bike
Comments: Left my bike shoes at home, so had to pedal on SPDs in running shoes. Diffcult to say the least. What would you do differently?: Um, not forget my bike shoes. Like, clip them into my pedals the night before. Transition 2
Comments: Road was wet; couldn't brake heavily nor jump off of bike. But hey, my running shoes were already on and tied! Run
Comments: Not bad. Thighs and hammys were really stiff from the awkward biking. Had a decent kick at the end for about 1/5 mile. The one bad hill was tough. What would you do differently?: Would have had a better run had I worn bike shoes. Post race
Warm down: None to speak of. Was concerned about our 11 year old still on the bike portion. Hamstrings were really hurting. Forgot my recovery drink. Did a Gatorade and a banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad bike segment. Event comments: I tried to overcome the obstacle of not having my bike shoes and still pulled a 7th out of 26 in my AG. I can live with that! Last updated: 2008-07-04 12:00 AM
