Age Group Rank = 12/38
Pre-race routine:

arrived early (7 am) because we'd stayed in Strathmore overnight. (Holiday Inn Express is new and nice.) Set up in transition. Walked around drinking water and eating Clif Bars. Stretched from time to time.
Event warmup:

Waiting in line, for ever...
Swim
  • 11m 53s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 23s / 100 meters
Comments:

time includes run to timing mat. Swim was supposed to have 'continuous feed' but this apparently means you have to wait until all 4 swimmers are clear of a lane before 4 new swimmers are allowed to swim. My actual swim start was about 1 hour after my posted start time. Yes I know this was a suggested time but an hour late - way too much.
Transition 1
  • 03m
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 42m 40s
  • 20 kms
  • 28.13 km/hr
Comments:

I was able to stay in my big chain ring the whole time (including the hills). Yay me! And: NO FLAT TIRES!! Drank just enough from my aerobottle too. Very happy with the cycle. Passed a number of people, even on the hills. THANKS Coach Troy. THANKS 'Real Rides'. THANKS YMCA spin classes! My official time includes both transitions so I am going to keep my watch time here...
What would you do differently?:

I still have to get stronger on my cycling. Maybe add leg weights to my training.
Transition 2
  • 02m 2s
Run
  • 28m 6s
  • 5 kms
  • 05m 37s  min/km
Comments:

Happy with pace. Started off a little fast but noticed my breathing and slowed down. Finished strong!!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Am delighted!!
Post race
Warm down:

Found family. They didn't see me finish because the 1 hour delay really threw everything off. Was really bummed about that.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Did my best!

Event comments:

Not happy with swim feed. Happy with results.

Nice job Tracy! Way to go!

I have never had any success with my family finding me at the finish, when I was finishing either. I've got them involved in volunteering now, that wat they can see me for sure during part of the race. This isn't a very good spectator sport though...

Great job Tracy - I like how you kept improving in your AG ranking from one event to the next. It's nice to know that you're out there catching people that swim better than you do.

So I don't know why my first post was blank!  I honestly did write about this once...

You did awesome, especially after all of that waiting.  It's awful when you are ready to go, and the race isn't.   That happened to me at the last tri I did -- the police had been called off on an emergency and it delayed closing the road for the bike leg by about 45 minutes, so we all stood around.

Good for you for having the mental toughness to wait it out!
