I apologize if this has been discussed in previous threads (I couldn't find anything), but is BT planning on adding any features to capture data from power meter devices (ie PowerTap)?

Yes it is. We're planning on adding some pretty cool specific reporting with it too.

When is tough to say, but it's high on our list of things to add to the logs. If my Motorola Razr phone hadn't died yesterday I'd post a pic of the whiteboard in my office that shows it priotized as a "must add in the near future" item.

You just reminded me, I have to read that "Training with Power" book to make sure I have a grip on exactly how to best go about this...

Thanks MIke! I have enjoyed my time on BT and didn't want to have to juggle multiple platforms in order to track my training with power.  It is a very technical subject, but once one learns how to interpret the data it can do wonders.  I am glad to hear this is on the horizon.

Cool....I post my stuff often in my log back in IM training time more like May/June with my data from cycling Peaks software...if you are curious what I'd like to see...Be sure to include a place for Normalized Power.

I think I've been bugging Ron ( and now Mike ) about this for a while now.

It sounds like something is in the works, but there's some other cool stuff ( like the Garmin integration ) that's been giving me things to play with in the mean time.

I am not sure if you will be able to use Normalize Power, Intensity factor, Variable Index and Training Stress Score (explained in that book) as those are trade marks by training peaks. just as FYI.

We will probably come out with some basic power logging just due to the fact of some new power based training plans in the next few months.  I'm not going to commit on a timeframe yet.  We have two big monstrous projects were are trying to get finished and live in the next few months.

Though we have just finished another key phase of the new site today.

Now that I have actually been using my PM, are you going to be able to upload data from the PM directly to the logs similar to the Garmin?

There are some API's for the PM but they are pretty generic for just getting raw data.  I was looking into them so I could be lazy and just synch them up with my BT logs without having to manually type them in.

Someone also recommended just writing a perl script to take the data from a CSV file but I am super lazy so I didn't want that extra step of exporting to file.

Yeah, if you have some URL's on the API info and what powermeters they work for, we can take a look.
