I'd like to know what other people do when they log a sport into their training log.  Do you log the sport and the associated discipline (mountain biking = cycling, soccer = running, water polo = swimming) or do you just log the sport?

I play soccer once per week and log it as a sport.  But, as you know there is a fair amount of running involved which turns out to be very good interval training and cross-training.  I then run one other day, sometimes two, as a regular aerobic run workout.  I consider soccer a run workout, but don't log it as such.  I estimate that I run or jog 30-60 minutes during a game (depending on how many substitutes we have).

Maybe it's personal preference, but I want to be sure that I am giving myself credit for training I've done.

Thoughts?

Seems to me that we all log workouts in a way that is meaningful to us. You can certainly log the running portion of your Soccer Workouts as running and that would seem to make sense.

In the end, the logs are there for your benefit as a record of your training

I have experimented with logging different types of workouts in the past but found it more meaningful to just log SBR mostly because it was a pain to try and keep track of all the other activities. (Hiking, Surfing, Yoga etc.) Some things are just better left unstructured (At least for me)

Yeah, I only log swim/bike/run. I used to log stregnth and stretching but the just felt like I was padding my time volume for no good reason so I stopped.

Same here.  Nothing wrong with it though.

I want BT to track S/B/R and only things related to that.  I used to put everything in there, but after a couple months of adding a couple rounds of golf per week, suddenly it looked like I was doing 20-25 hours of training (but 10-15 were from golf.)  It screwed up the scale of the graphs and made my S/B/R stuff harder to read.

I ended up going back and taking most of the misc. stuff out for that reason...
