149.2 for me last week

It's another new month!  Let's all work together refocus and join back in.

For weigh-in tomorrow, let's share a bit about ourselves to make this a little more interesting and motivating.

 - What is a new recipe you've tried in the last couple weeks?

 - What is your current fitness goal?

 - What is your biggest challenge in your pursuit of weight loss?

 - What are you going to do this week to make a difference?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I'm at 160.   That's 7 pounds lost total.  Only 13 more to go.

Weighing in today at 148.4.

My answers for the week...

 - What is a new recipe you've tried in the last couple weeks?

Delicata Squash Stuffed with Curried Wild Rice

 - What is your current fitness goal?

To figure out how to change my lifestyle into a healthy one... discipline myself to eat healthy and exercise consistently.  Goal: Lose 20 lbs and complete an Oly next year.

 - What is your biggest challenge in your pursuit of weight loss?

Laziness!  Allowing work to take higher priority than my personal goals.

 - What are you going to do this week to make a difference?

Create food and exercise diary.  Remember each day is a new start... I don't need to wait until next week or next month to refocus.

Sorry I missed last week--was traveling for work and didn't have a working scale. This week, 214 (again).

My answers to the questions from last week:

New recipe: I tried a new recipe for creamy baked fennel that I got from a great vegetarian cookbook. I soon realized, though, that I don't like fennel. That licorice smell/taste is pretty off-putting to me. Oh, well. That's why you try new things, right?

Biggest challenge: For me, sticking to a diet. Somehow, I seem to rationalize buying that bag of chips at the store.

My training goal: Run more often and farther. I'd like to be able to race (or at least finish) a half-mary next year.

I've been gone for a while -- I lost my job so stuff has been a bit crazy here. But things are getting better, and I've still been working out. On the plus side, I've lost a bunch of weight, so I'm down to 152.5. I'm hoping that this is real loss, not just due to stress, and I can maintain it. I definitely lost some muscle mass in there, but I'm back to working out regularly and working on eating better again.

But it looks like everyone has been doing great here!

As for the questions:

New recipe: I actually don't think I tried a new recipe this week -- which is pretty sad since I normally love to cook.

Biggest challenge: For me, eating well within a budget and not just eating junk when I'm home alone for a day.

My training goal: Long bike rides on the weekends this winter. Biking is really what holds me back, and I definitely have a fear of it, so just getting out and getting on the bike can be a challenge.

How's everyone doing?

We're definitely coming into the difficult stretch, what with all the holidays right around the corner.  I'm embarrassed that I haven't lost any weight so far.  Plenty of excuses, but none very good... sound familiar?

Sorry to hear you lost your job, Mildew33 -- that's rough.  Though as you point out, maybe the silver lining is that you've dropped some weight!  In fact, you're the weight-loss leader now.  Way to go!

Sorry I forgot to check in last week!  I was at 160 last week and am still there this week.

Being injured is making it a little harder to train, so I think I need to be more careful with my food choices.  I'm working on that this week.

I'll be on vacation next Monday, so I probably won't post until Wednesday next week.

Sorry I didn't post last week, I was at my inlaws the whole week with no scale!

I managed to make it through thanksgiving with no weight gain.

135.0 this morning Laughing

That's 11 lbs so far  ... I know we are well over half way to the end of the challange and I am not going to make the 20 lb mark (but I was thinking that my total would be 10 lbs...so I am super excited!). 5 more lbs to the normal BMI range for my height, and I will be officially be out of the overweight bracket
